What Is Blog Pre-Scheduling?

Tags: ,

These days now that you have blog software that can drip out content, an auto responder services that can drip out email messages, there is no reason to start everyday with nothing new written. You could in fact, begin on Monday, spend the day writing the entire week of content, set it and forget it. Write it all on schedule on Monday, then Tuesday’s post will appear on Tuesday, Wednesday’s blog post on Wednesday, and so on.

If your blog has the appropriate social media plugins, then it will also make a post on your Twitter accounts. Letting your followers know that you have made a new blog post. Basically, you write it, you set it on a timer and the blog itself does the work of automatically putting your content online. How do you do this?

With the WordPress blogging software, it is very simple and it is possible with no additional plugins. When you make a new post, you can tell the posts to appear immediately. You can also change the date on the post so it is backdated as if you wrote it months or years ago. But you can also change the post to appear in the future. That means if you change the date on your blog post to one week in the future and you save it, that post will be in a scheduled state. And after a week has passed and it is now the date you have set for that blog post, it will become live one week from today.

Keep in mind this strategy will work if you self-host your blog, and also if your blog is separately hosted for free by WordPress themselves! Pre-scheduling works for both methods.

Of course, you can change the date to become tomorrow, next month, next year or whatever and schedule as many blog posts as you want in advance. What I like to do is schedule at least one blog post per month, ahead of time. That way I know that for the next six months, I will at least have one new blog post every month without me having to do anything.

With a blog, pre-scheduling is a must if you want to produce content consistently. Just write it all now, schedule it in WordPress, and then let the blog do the hard work of making the appropriate content live when it’s time for that.

That’s how you pre-schedule blog posts but how do you write the content for your blog? I am glad you asked! Go to http://www.makeaproduct.com/blog to find out more.
