We can take your RSS feed and plug it into a nice free site called twitterfeed.com You add your RSS feed into twitterfeed and have it update to ping.fm. Ping FM takes your updates and sends them out to a giant list of sites all across the internet.

Twitterfeed.com will send out between 1-5 updates on a schedule you set, that will automatically post updates of new news with links back to your site! Now you have a site that publishes it’s own news and builds it’s own links! How cool is that? As I’m writing this article I have 16 blogs, publishing news, posting to twitter, blogger WordPress, and more. All of it done automatically for me 24 hours a day. From the moment you begin researching ways to make money online, you hear WRITING, WRITING, and MORE WRITING, over and over again. There’s a reason for that and we’re going to discuss how the written word can make you money, but YOU don’t have to be the one doing all that writing. Save your paper and your wrists!

One of the hottest ways to make money online is through the power of blogging. But, what does blogging require? What do you think? What ONE thing must you do above all else in order to blog?

If you’re like the majority of people, your answer probably included…you guessed it…WRITING! After all, that’s what a blog is all about right? On your blog you are sharing your thoughts with others in the form of blog posts that you’ve written – constant writing.

Before you run for the hills, let me let you in on a little secret.

While those blog posts are necessary in order for you to be a successful blogger, they do NOT all have to be written by you.

You need content to make your blog successful, but it does not have to be written by you. Let me explain by giving you some ways to make money and keep your blog fresh without wearing yourself out or giving yourself Carpal Tunnel Syndrome before you even get started bringing in the dough.

But, first, you need to know why content so important on the Internet and especially your blog.

Why is Content Crucial?

Here are a few reasons…

First of all, people come to the web for one thing and one thing only – information. Whether they’re shopping for products to buy or looking for a natural remedy for their acne, they’re hitting the web for information, advice, and help.

If your readers find quality information from you they’re very likely to:

• Stick Around
• Sign Up for Your ezine or newsletter
• Twitter about your site
• Recommend your posts at places like StumbleUpon.com
• Sign up for your RSS feed
• Come back in the future
• Refer others to your site

Second, search engines LOVE content. The more pages you have on your website or blog filled with quality content, the better. Whether you offer product reviews, funny stories, or meaty training, quality content is rewarded by Google, MSN, and Yahoo, as well as the many other smaller search engines online.

Third, adding value to the Internet begins to establish you as an expert on your topic. By writing great information, your readers will begin to look at you as THE go-to person for information. You’ll begin attracting interview and JV requests as well.

As you can see content really is important if you want to build a successful blog or website on the Internet. Without it, your site is just another in the World Wide Web. How can people find you if they don’t know you exist? By establishing yourself and providing your readers with quality posts and other valuable information they need and want, you will see that you can easily become one of the big fish in the pond.

But, what if you don’t have time to write constantly? Or, what if you don’t like writing? You’re in luck, there are many ways to add quality information to your blog without having to write it all yourself.

Before we get to that, let me tell you that while you can create a blog purely made up of content that you don’t write yourself, I wouldn’t advise it. If you want to really resonate with your readers, you have to let them get to know you as well. Don’t shy away from writing some posts yourself, but instead use these content creation methods along with your own writing to create even more quality information for your visitors.

Where to Find Content for Your Blog?

Now that you know you need great content for your blog and why, it’s time to move on to the meat of this report. I promised I’d tell you how to get that content without wearing your fingers to the bone. So, here we go! Hang on it’s gonna be a fun ride!

1. Hire a Writer

There are freelance writers who make it their business to write articles, blog posts and more for website owners as well as bloggers. Most of these writers, also known as ghostwriters, charge per written piece and base their charges on the word count of the content you need. For instance, you can have a 300 word blog post written for X amount of dollars on the desired topic of your choice.

Normally, you will send the writer either a broad topic or even an actual title and they will in turn write the content for you following your specifications. Finding a ghostwriter is not hard, especially with the field growing by leaps and bounds every single day. The hard part is finding a writer you can communicate well with, afford, and who can write in a way that captures your voice.

Here are some tips to keep in mind when hiring a ghostwriter.

Finding a Writer

Ask for Recommendations – Ask around and see who comes recommended. You can easily get references from other bloggers, website owners, Internet marketers, and even on social media sites such as Twitter.

Search Engines – While this is an option, I would definitely ask people you know and trust for their suggestions for a writer first. Just because a person’s website makes it to the top of the search engine results and they “claim” to be an experienced writer, doesn’t mean they are.

It Might Take More than One to Find THE One

Just as every blog is different, so are writers. Don’t get discouraged if you try one (or sometimes more) writer and he or she is not what you had in mind. Some writers can take any blog owner’s writing style and implement it in their articles and blog posts with no problem what-so-ever. Others don’t find it as easy.

If you hire a writer and find you don’t like their writing style or approach to a topic, move to another. I can tell you from experience; sometimes it takes going through a few writers to find the one that “gets it” and will whip out superb content that fits your personality as if you wrote it yourself.

Feedback is Crucial

When you hire a writer make sure you give them feedback once they’ve completed a writing project for you. If there was something you didn’t like about the article – the way they worded things wasn’t how you would have done it, etc. – let them know. A professional writer will be open to all types of feedback and offer to correct the issue with a re-write. By providing feedback, you are not only letting the writer know what you like and dislike about the content, but you are also building a relationship that will become very beneficial for both of you.

For instance, I know I can start writing something that’s in my head and when I get stuck, it’s nothing for me to whip it over to my writer and say “Help!” I have developed a relationship with her that allows me to feel comfortable throwing something her way without a second thought for improvement, additions, etc. I know that once she returns it to me I will not only be pleased, but it will read as if I’ve written it all myself because she and I have communicated and discussed my likes and dislikes so much that she could pass as me almost any day!

Review & Edit

I know I just said that I can send something to my writer and it would be like I’ve written it myself, but that doesn’t mean I can get away with not looking at the finished product. Even the best of writers have their off days, mine included.

Therefore, it is critical that any piece of writing you have someone else put together for you, should be reviewed and edited as necessary. Whether you’re making changes to put more of your own thoughts and opinions to it or simply adding monetization items, you must, must, must review each and every piece of content you have created for you.

2. Seek Guest Experts

You may have seen these on other blogs you, yourself frequent. Also commonly referred to as guest bloggers, guest experts are people who can provide relevant information to your readers in the form of guest posts. These are people who somehow tie in with your blog’s topic. For instance, if you own an Internet marketing blog you might consider approaching people from the following areas about submitting guest posts or becoming a regular guest expert on your blog.

• Social Media Experts
• Outsourcing Experts
• Web Design Experts
• Technical Experts
• Working from Home Experts
• Press Release Experts
• Affiliate Marketing Experts

The list could go on and on, but I think you get the picture.

You invite them to be a guest blogger on your blog, set them up with their own login information or have them submit their posts directly to you so you can post them yourself.
Give them something in return for their efforts because most guest bloggers are not paid for their posts. Many times a link back to the guest experts’ site and possibly allowing them to promote their own products or affiliates products within their post is all that’s needed. But, with the growth in popularity of guest bloggers, it’s getting a bit harder to find people who will commit. If they’re good at what they do, they will be blogging on other sites as well as yours. Try to sweeten the pot a little to get them to stick around and continue posting.

Of course, you can pay them to submit information if you’d like. As a matter of fact, I myself have one site where I pay for submissions. I monitor the submissions and if we decide it is site worthy, we pay the author for the article once it’s been published. I’ve found this helps when it comes to having a steady flow of content.

One more thing about guest bloggers you may find helpful. If you know people who are just starting out they are more open to jumping on as a guest blogger than established bloggers or business owners. However, if you aren’t ranking extremely high in the search engines, your traffic numbers aren’t all that great or your blog isn’t quite as popular as you’d like it to be yet, don’t worry. It takes some time to get there, but with the help of adding all this great content and a few other essentials, you’ll be there before you know.

3. Hit the Article Directories

Article directories are databases full of articles that authors have submitted in hopes that others will pick them up and publish them on their websites and blogs. You can find articles on just about every topic of the sun at these directories.

The catch is that you must include the author’s resource box, which normally contains information about the author and a link to their website, when you publish it on your own site. They are great sources of information, but read the articles very carefully to be sure you are getting the content you want for your website. You wouldn’t want to place incorrect information on your blog and mislead your readers after all.

4. Create Video & Audio

Audio and video are growing ever popular online, especially on blogs. You can publish your own audios and videos or you can link to ones that others have created.

Here are some ideas for creating your own audios and videos that you can publish on your blog:

• Interviews with experts in your field
• How-to videos
• Talk radio shows and podcasts
• Training
• And more

5. Add RSS News Feeds

As you probably already know, most blogs have what is known as an RSS feed. This is where, when set up by the blog owner, readers can subscribe to the feed and be notified of new posts to the blog via email or feed readers. If your blog doesn’t have one, I highly suggest you create one. It’s really easy with the help of a site like FeedBurner.com.

Just as blogs have feeds, so do news websites such as CNN, MSNBC, etc. You can have your blog set up to receive feeds from other blogs or websites automatically. When you do this, your blog will show the posts from the other sites. Your blog is updated automatically every time a post is added to that site.

What a great way to have constant content pertaining to your topic appear on your blog. Great for indexing in the search engines too.

6. Ask Your Readers

Another great way to get content is to ask your readers to submit questions, suggestions, etc.

Their information can be turned into content for your blog in many ways:

Q & A Posts – Ask your readers to submit their questions and then answer them right on your blog.

Create a FAQ Page – As you receive questions, add them to a frequently asked questions page on your site. Each time you update the page, let your readers know.

Product Reviews – If you sell products or provide a service, ask your customers for their opinions about these things. Sometimes, they will submit full fledged reviews and you can publish those on your blog.

Testimonials – While these may not be full posts on their own, you can combine some of them and post on your blog.

7. Newsletters & Emails to Subscribers

Do you have an email list? When you send emails to your subscribers or send out your regular newsletter, do you stop at that? Start posting the updates you send to your subscribers and your newsletters or ezines to your blog as well.

Some of your subscribers may not get a chance to read your emails before they are shuffled down their inbox screen or worse yet, they may have filters that are blocking your emails altogether. This will allow them to still receive the valuable information you have to share AND give you more quality content for your blog.

Of course, if you have a list that has sensitive information that you don’t want the whole world to see, skip on posting those specific messages. One example of this would be a membership site where you send members a download link each month so they can access their member’s only information. You wouldn’t want just anybody to have the ability to get that information.

But, if you’re adding a new product to your business for instance, go ahead and post the email you send to your past customers on your blog. You’ll get more exposure for your product and added content for your blog. It’s a win-win.

8. Load Up with Private Label Rights (PLR) Content

One of my favorite ways to add quality, topic related content to a blog is with PLR. If you don’t know what PLR is, let me fill you in on this wonderful little thing.

PLR content is created specifically for those who don’t have the time, skills or desire to create their own content on a consistent basis. You can find articles, blog posts, reports, recipes, marketing materials, and even web design PLR on the Internet. Someone else writes it and sells it. You buy it and have the ability to use as you see fit – for the most part. Most PLR sites do have rules to what you can and can’t do with the PLR once you purchase it, so be sure you review those before buying.

Now, let’s see what some of the benefits of PLR include:

Inexpensive – PLR is normally cheaper than hiring a ghostwriter. You can normally buy a pack of PLR or sign up for a membership for very little. For instance, a ballpark average cost for a freelancer to write a 500 word article might run you around 10-15 dollars. With some PLR sites, you can buy 10-15 articles for that same price.

Variety – No matter what your topic, you can probably find PLR content for sale about it. The popularity of PLR has helped make it’s availability in a wide variety of markets bigger and broader than ever before.

Limited (some not all) availability – Although PLR is not exclusively yours like ghostwritten material, in most instances the number of times a particular package will be sold is limited. At least with a good PLR seller it is. This will limit the amount of times your content will be found on someone else’s site. (But, I’m going to tell you in a minute how to avoid that, even if the PLR you purchase isn’t limited to a certain amount of buyers.)

Time-Saving – As with the other ways to find content without writing it yourself, PLR saves you a TON of time. It’s already written for you, you just have to make it your own and it’s good to go.

Recyclable – One PLR article can be used over and over again. You can repurpose the same piece of content in numerous ways:

• Post it to your blog.
• Send it to your list.
• Create your own products with it.
• Use it in your affiliate program.
• Use it in your membership program.
• And so much more.

The possibilities really are endless when it comes to using PLR. The more you use it, the more valuable that one piece of content becomes to you.

One bit of advice if you’re using PLR content:

If you decide to use PLR on your blog (or anywhere else for that matter) rework it before posting it. You want to make the content your own in some way. There will be other people on the Internet that are using this same content and unfortunately some won’t see the need to make the content their own and put it up as is. You don’t want to be offering the EXACT same information as everyone else.

Make the PLR cater to your audience and target market. Add your own thoughts to it. Put a different spin on it, whatever you need to do to make it work for your needs without simply throwing it up on your blog in the same condition you received it in. This is what will set you apart from another blogger in your market. This is what will show your readers that you can be trusted and know your stuff.

I’ve now given you 8 ways to get content for your blog without having to write it all yourself. There are other ways, but these are some of my personal favorites and most popular ways. Pick one you really like or choose a combination of them.

Monetizing Your Content for Passive Blogging Profits
Once you start compiling your content and adding it to your blog, it’s time to start thinking about how you can make money with your new found information. I’ve got a few ideas to help you get started, so let’s get to it – I know this is what you were waiting on wasn’t it?
1. Promote Affiliate Programs
Finding products you can promote within your content is a great way to make money with your blog. One way to do this is to sign up for an affiliate program for the items you would like to promote. Once you’ve found them and signed up you’ll receive a link (your affiliate link) that you can use to send your blog readers to the product. When they make a purchase using your link, you’ll be rewarded with commissions.
When posting your content, think of items that will compliment the content and search for affiliate programs for those types of products. For instance, if you’re posting an article that discusses using video online, you could promote the software you use to create your own videos. Do you have a product or service you love and couldn’t live without? Put together a product review and use your affiliate link to send your reader to the company’s website. A word of caution with reviews – a reader can tell if you’re just pushing a product to make a sale so be honest. If there is something you don’t like about it, tell them.

The Company’s Website – More and more business owners are realizing just how much creating an affiliate program for their products and services can increase business. Check right on the company’s website for information on how to sign up for their affiliate program.
Affiliate Networks – You can find tons of products in every market you could dream of here. Just sign up for a free publisher account, locate products you’d like to promote. That’s all there is to it. www.ClickBank.com
Free Affiliate Articles – If you’re looking for content that is ready for affiliate links visit www.FreeAffiliateArticles.com and you’ll find a bunch.
Mom Affiliate Network – If you cater to the mom market, I highly recommend checking this site out for family friendly products. You’ll also find programs to help Internet marketers and those who want to work from home here. www.MomAffiliateNetwork.com
Search Engines – Many times you can put the type of product you’re looking to promote plus the words “affiliate program” into your browser’s search feature and you’ll find lots of options.
2. Adsense
Do you see those blocks of ads on blogs and websites throughout the web that “Ads by Google” at the bottom? Those are ads published via Google’s Adsense program.
Google sends targeted ads based on the content that appears on your blog. You can sign up for an account with Google’s Adsense program for free. Once you sign up you’ll be able to set up the type of ads you’d like fed to your blog (text ads, block ads, banner ads, and more). As the content on your blog changes, Google changes the ads and you’re paid whenever someone clicks on the ads.
When done correctly, you can make very good money with Adsense, but it does take a bit of testing and tweaking to find the combination of ads that will work best for your individual blog. People are used to seeing these ads and although many people do ignore them, there are many more who will click the links and you’ll be compensated when they do.
3. Resale Rights Content

Resale rights content is content you purchase similar to PLR with one exception. You usually don’t have the right to alter the content in anyway. You purchase the content for your use and are given the rights to resell it, which allows you to then turn around sell the product yourself.

Normally, you’ll receive not only the product, but also the sales page and other web copy to add to your own website. You simply change the payment link to have it paid to you and whenever someone buys the product you get all the profits.

Master Resale Rights Content

If resale rights content isn’t good enough, there is also content you can purchase that comes with what’s known as Master Resale Rights. The difference between master resale rights and regular resale rights is:

Resale Rights – You can sell the product but you can NOT pass those same rights on to your customers.

Master Resale Rights – You can not only sell the product and keep the profits, but you also have the ability to pass resale rights onto your customers. They can in turn sell the product as their own.

Each product has specific rules on how you can and cannot use the content no matter which type you are given. Due to this make certain you take the time to read the rules before just throwing the product up for sale or offering rights to others.

Here are some examples of products that offer resale rights you might want to try for your blog:

4. Create & Sell Your Own Info Products
Ok, I know you’re probably shaking your head after reading number 4. You’re probably wondering how in the world you have the time to write your own information products when you’re trying to save time and energy by NOT writing all your own blog posts. Hear me out, I promise it’ll be worth it. ?
Just like your blog posts, you can create information products that you can sell to your readers without writing all of the content yourself. The absolute best (and easiest) way to do this is by purchasing PLR content that centers around the topic of the info product you’d like to create and rework it a bit and compile it to create an eBook or guide you can then put up for sale. Here’s an example of what I mean:
Let’s say you have a blog about Green Living. One thing your readers would love to know is how to live a greener life without paying tons of money on things like solar panels, costly home additions, etc. You’ve decided you’d like to create an eBook to help them go green by making small changes to their everyday lifestyles without breaking the bank. You’d also like to show them ways they can not only live a greener life, but even save money in the process. We’ll call the product: “Go Green without Breaking the Bank: Small Changes You Can Make to Live an Eco-Friendly Life while Saving Money.”
The first thing you’d do is start searching for private label rights content that fits your subject. Next, you’ll want to compile all the PLR you’ve purchased into a logical, valuable document. Now, it’s time to add your own advice, tips, knowledge, etc. on the subject and form your finished product.
You’ve now created an entire eBook without having to write the majority of it yourself. Save your brain power for marketing your newly created product. Just remember, make any PLR you purchase your own by reworking it to fit your needs and add to or take away information as necessary.

Bonus Tip: To add value to your information product, record an audio version of your eBook and package it with the written version. You can also interview others in your field and add that too.

5. ECourses & Newsletters
Another great way to monetize your blog content is by adding free eCourses to your arsenal. You can put together eCourses that will give your readers further information about the topic of your blog.
For instance, if you run a blog about Labrador Retrievers, why not create a short 5 day eCourse that tells owners of Lab puppies the best tips and tricks for house training the newest member of their family. Or, create an eCourse that gives important information on raising Labs specifically.
You can use PLR content or take content you’ve previously posted on your blog to create your eCourses.

Simply load the eCourse into your email management system (I use Aweber) and sprinkle promotions for affiliate products throughout the course. Once you have the course set up, copy and paste the HTML or JavaScript for the sign up box into your blog. Then market the course via your blog posts, on Twitter, and other places.
This brings me to the next step in making money with your blog – bringing in visitors.

6. Ad networks.
Ad networks are programs that serve ads onto your blog. Normally they pay per thousand impressions. (Usually described as CPM.) So, an ad network that pays $3 CPM would pay $3 for every 1000 times the ad was viewed.

Then, Drive Traffic!
I’ll be straight and to the point – without readers your blog will never make money. You need new readers and faithful ones that will keep coming back and spread the word. How do you get people to come to your blog in the first place? And, once you get them there how do you keep them?
Getting Traffic to Your Blog
Search Engine Traffic – Pay attention to keywords and phrases when you publish your blog posts and other pages. These will help your blog rank higher in the search engines and bring targeted visitors (those really interested in what you have to say) to you.
Word of Mouth – Give some incentive for your readers to tell others about your blog. You can offer contests and giveaways where the winner has to link to the contest or post a Tweet on Twitter about the contest, etc. We’ll talk more about these things in a bit.
Comment on Other Blogs – Find blogs that fit with yours and visit them, read what the author posts and make comments on their posts. When you make comments on other blogs you are normally given the opportunity to link to your site – use it!
Article Marketing – We talked about article directories earlier, but this time you’ll be the one submitting the articles for others to pick up and post on their websites and blogs. Be sure you link to your blog in the resource box so people who read the article can visit your site to learn more.

History of Nofollow

Originally, the nofollow attribute was used on the page-level with a meta tag. It instructed search engines not to follow (crawl) outgoing links on a page. Example: see code example on main site

Another way to tell search engines not to follow (crawl) pages was to include them in a robots.txt file. But it was more difficult to prevent robots from following individual links on a link by link basis. The rel=”nofollow” attribute allows webmasters to easily instruct the search engine robot to not crawl a link.

How to Spot Nofollow Links?

You can install browser plugins, or edits to Chrome to show a highlighted color over nofollow links. You can also install a plugin to your blogging software.

Nofollow Implications

Links are now either dofollow or nofollow. From the perspective of building links to your site or blog, dofollow links will always give you more link juice. While nofollow links won’t either harm or help your link building. With that said, how you decide to build links with respect to the nofollow attribute (whether you want to get ONLY dofollow links or both to create a more natural array of links) will be an individual choice. Consult the Google Adsense site to see the of your blog. The certain area, the greater the chances of someone, when looking at your blog, will click on a Google Ad. Plugins are add ons to WordPress, they’re like super powered steroids that make WordPress do extra stuff. In this case, you’ll need to download and install Feedwordpress or your ‘auto posting’ software to make WordPress import RSS feeds from around the Internet.  There are a ton of WordPress Plugins and they really help out immensely if you know which ones to pick (both free and commercial) to assist in your autoblog process.

What’s an RSS feed? Well simply put, its call Real Simple Syndication.  Like a news feed to a newspaper from a main news source. RSS feeds are used to let one computer or software program talk to another, basically it’s a specially formatted file that tells one website about the content of another website.

You’ll need to use it to automatically pull content from one website to display on other.

Now, to make sure you’re really cutting down on your workload, there are a few more Plugins that you’ll need. See, FeedWordPress will fetch thousands of posts … some are duplicated so lets add some WordPress Plugins to make your life a little easier.

WP Auto Tagger will add keywords to each post automatically, this helps cut down the work you’ll have to do to each post if you’re using feed WordPress though others do this automatically.

Delete Duplicate Posts is a quick way to make sure you don’t have duplicate posts in your database if feed WordPress or others are being used that create these posts.  Again, you’ll hear this often, there are some programs that don’t require this plug-in.  If they do, it is only intermittent and it can be ‘shut off’ when not needed.

Setup Your Feeds

Now that you have your blog setup and running, you’ll need to add feeds from popular sources to automatically populate your blog. For example, you may wish to add a feed from Google for blog posts FeedWordPress. Once this is done, your website will scan the blogshere on a schedule, looking for all new posts about the subjects you choose.  This can create duplicate posts, junk posts and a ‘runaway blog’ if you’re not careful.  And it only does RSS feeds.  There are other ways to autoblog, which I’ll cover on the blogs and websites I frequent. You can do the same with Google News, to ensure you always know what’s happening.

Manage Posts

When you setup FeedWordPress it asks if you’d like posts to be held for moderation or posted, it’s best to always hold posts for moderation while you’re getting used to the system and make notes of things you need to delete or edit before they go live.  You really want to edit posts if at all possible when Autoblogging, however, I like to have ‘main categories’ I add my posts to, those that are the main visual categories and I use a lot of ‘long-tail-keywords’ with some auto posting or Autoblogging software that basically forces the feed to provide the most relevant information or nothing at all.  I am still up late going through 5,000 posts as I write this…….

Advanced WordPress users will also be able to build special functions into their websites to automate complex parts of the process. As you’re are reading this, however, technology is in place that eliminates most of need to learn Linux cron.

Approval

The final step of auto blogging and one that I believe is often overlooked is the final approval of an article. Personally, I believe it is critical that people (not machines) do a final scan of each article being posted and ensure it is accurate, maybe this isn’t true auto blogging but it’s impossible for robots to ensure everything is right so a quick scan of the article will ensure that you’re sharing the right information with your target audience.  Again, 5,000 posts……4,999…. 4,998…..

Who is Auto Blogging Right For?

There are a lot of industries that Autoblogging simply wouldn’t work for I do believe that scanning trusted data sources and automatically processing listings for car dealerships, financial reports, real estate, news services, syndicated news etc. is a wonderful use of RSS and auto blogging technology.  There are some reputable blogs you can hit and again some tools allow keywords to strip out unnecessary content.  Overall it works out pretty well.

I use it on all of my sites and other clients sites to get good relevant content, news, research or other information that would be critical to complete a website or blog which could normally take a very long time to complete (even 1 to 2 years of work, relationships, writing, networking, et al.)

So if this sounds like it might be something you’d want for your website, you may want to look at hiring a professional to set this up due to the technicalities and / or finding the best quality software package to simplify the process.

Here are my 7 easy things to do to make your blog better.

Get listed Make sure your listed at DMOZ
Make sure that the whole of your blog is indexed on the main Search Engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing.
Get a Google Sitemap on your blog to help to get it fully indexed

Nowadays it is almost taken for granted – so it almost always forgotten, get listed.

What to do: Make sure your blog is listed and index on Google, Yahoo and Bing etc. and if you haven’t already submit your site to DMOZ.

Write quality content.
If you think about it all bloggers are teachers. Our posts pass on information and our visitors read it. We transfer knowledge.Now think about why people visit your blog – you have information that they want to read.There is very little point in writing a post just to write a post, make sure that it contains something that your readers will want to read – and share.

What to do: Whenever you write a blog post think – is this the quality I want to share with my readers, will they learn from it?

Give a pat on the back
Visit other blogs and leave constructive comments not forgetting to link back to your blog.You spend time crafting your posts, guess what so do others. It is always nice to receive feedback on our work. How many times have you visited a blog and been inspired by a post?Tell the author, leave a comment it gives encouragement. It gives the writer a warm feeling of satisfaction that their hard work is appreciated. Remember we all like to be appreciated.

There are multiple benefits here, you can link back to your blog, perhaps even a specific post. As people read the blog comments (I do) they often visit linked blogs and if you have quality blog content you may have a new reader.

What to do: Every day visit a blog and leave a constructive comment.

Share posts you find with your blog readersIf you find a great blog post share it with your readers. Don’t forget that just because you found it doesn’t mean your readers will. We all love recommendations, a reader who visits a blog by recommendation is much more likely to become a regular visitor and contributor.When sharing don’t just cut and paste, write a critique, tell people why you liked (or disliked) the post, what you found interesting and why.

What to do: Every day share one new found blog post with your readers.

Use the social networks like twitter
Twitter, Facebook etc are now so popular that it is impossible to ignore them is this list of easy thinks to do. If you don’t already “twit” them start. It’s quite easy just sign up at www.twitter.com.The social media like Twitter is all about sharing useful information and is a great way of getting links back to your site which will boost your rankings and traffic. Beware if you continually promote your own content, or use automated systems for regular posts it is easy to get banned for self promotion. There are also a great amount of Spam posts on twitter, people who post every few minutes (sometimes seconds) on irrelevant things.Just as you should create quality content for your posts create quality content for your tweets. Only submit useful content that people may be interested in. You only have 140 characters to play with but you would be amazed what you do with them.

Retweet posts you have found via twitter, again people love recommendations

What to do: Every day share and retweet one blog post with your twitter followers.

Encourage people to “go deep”
Typically a new blog post will appear at the top of your home page pushing your previous posts down the list. The more frequently you post the more your previous posts will move. This can make it hard for people to find and then read a post they haven’t already read. Encourage people to “go deep”, go beyond the front page and find those valuable previous posts. Here are two easy ways to do that.

What to do: Make sure put internal links within you blog.

Set some targets
Targets are a great way of measuring how effective your blog actually is. Most of us already use some form of statistics (Google analytics or other) to monitor our visitors, but do we actually “use” them. Probably not.So my final suggestion of easy things to do is to use this information to set targets. Some ideas might be “I want to:…… increase my daily visitors from “x” to “y”.”

… see my visitors visiting more pages – i.e. going in deep”

What do I really mean?

Increasing daily visitors is easy to monitor. You have “x” now and you want “y”. So set a target say you want to increase your visitors by 20% or a specific number. By setting the target you can then plan how to achieve it.

Get people to visit more pages, in simple terms let us say you have 100 hits a day you probably know how many pages visits you have, say 200. This means that on average people visit 2 pages. Why not set a target and get people to visit 3 or 4 pages. It will mean that more of your valuable hard work in crafting posts is read. The more it is read the more change you have of it being shared and therefore the more change of new visitors.

And finally combine all the ideas in the list above into targets.

Here are my targets:

I want to see an increase in daily visitors of 50%
I want them to read 5 pages/posts not just 3
I will visit at least 1 new blog a day and leave a comment
I will share a new blog post every day withy my visitors
I will tweet at least 1 interesting blog post each day

I have used all of these plugins at one stage or another, some of them are deactivated now, but none of these gave me any misfortune with my WordPress Thesis Theme.

A couple of these plugins take some time to set up correctly and my suggestion would be write down all your logins, usernames & passwords to refer back to in case you get in a muddle and forget, this may save you a lot of time and frustration later.

I am speaking from past experience “not enjoyable ones” and now I write every username, password & email down just in case. It really sux when you have computer probs and lose all your automatic logins.

The best way to install these is to login to your wordpress admin panel and goto plugins >- Add New >- Search. When you acquire what you want just install it from right there in the in your site. You ought to see an Install Button on the right hand side of the elected plugin.

I haven’t gone into a lot of detail with these as the best explanations are with the plugins themselves.

Hocus Pocus Buttons: is a WordPress-Plugin that provides sidebar widget with a widerange set of buttons for social bookmarking websites. However each button is only visible to the user if he has visited the corresponding site lately. The goal is not to disturb the user by using too many buttons / links (since he could probably only use one or two at all) and rather only show relevant services.

So there you have it, this should keep you busy for a while and dont fail to remember to make sure you dont double up on things, some of the social media plugins might seem like they will double up, but when you look more closely you will notice that one may not have every site the other has so just enable what you need.

There is a virtual endless list of plugins, for example… there are plugins specifically made for Amazon ect… thats why I have only covered the prime traffic generating helpers.

Second, be wise in choosing your theme. I’ve recently learned that when Google crawls your blog it typically reads from left to right. The reason this is important is because if you have a sidebar on the left with links or anything that is always the same then Google reads it first every time and considers it duplicate content. Duplicate content is not good and will hurt your rankings and thereby your traffic in the search engines. So pick a simple, easy to navigate theme with navigation bars on the right side allowing Google to read your new posts first. This will help to ensure an effective network marketing blog.

Third, to build your network marketing web presence you should post to your blog regularly. Update your blog at least every couple days and try to be consistent. Now many people do end up outsourcing their daily updates and just take care of things on the backend, but for those of you that would rather do everything yourself, there is a simple and elegant solution to filling up your blogs with plenty of content – RSS feeds.

RSS is a protocal that stands for “Really Simple Syndication”, but this article isn’t going to get into the nuts and bolts of how RSS works. Instead, this one is going to cover exactly where to find great RSS feeds to use as search engine fodder.

There are a few things that really make or break a RSS feed. If you aren’t going to be doing any of your own updates, finding ones with consistent updates is very important. Some sponsors are really on the ball with this, but the vast majority of them keep it going for awhile and then get bored. This is probably because getting blog traffic is a long term type of strategy, and it can take some time to see a return on investment.

The next thing you want to look for is well written text that is long enough to keep the search engines happy. Some RSS feeds are literally nothing more than glorified gallery descriptions – you get one short line with a crappy thumb and that’s about it. Now, it’s possible that you have accidentally stumbled onto the actual gallery RSS, but chances are the sponsor doesn’t really know what blog feeds require.

The longer the better, usually, but in general you are looking for 50-100 words. The last thing you want to look for are eye catching thumbs. Your text will get the visitors there via the search engines, but good pictures will keep them there and clicking though to your sponsors.

There are so many different RSS parsers that it would be impossible to cover them all, both free and paid. If you’re using WordPress there is a world full of plugins that you can try out – the one I personally have used is Feed WordPress. There are stand alone scripts and hosted scripts and any other type of script you can think of – the main thing to do is just try them out and see which one works for you.

The best kind have some sort of rewriting function so that you can swap out enough words to make the feed post unique to your blog. That way, you can actually get ranked instead of competing with everyone else that is using that feed. Now you just sit back and let the script handle it.

If you’re in a smaller niche that either doesn’t have RSS feeds at all, or they are just crappy ones, there is another solution – you can make your own. Now there are two scripts that I know of offhand for this – one free and hosted, the other paid. The one I use most often is the paid script called Gallery Scraper. This allows you to input a list of hosted galleries, it generates the screenshots for you, and then you just put in the text. You do need an RSS parser for the actual feeds, but the amount of time saved by these pre setup galleries is just mind blowing.

The other script that will do this is Gallery2Blog. It is not quite as elegant as Gallery Scraper, but it is free and hosted elsewhere. Like Gallery Scraper, it will generate the screenshots for you from a list of hosted galleries, and all you need to do is put in the text. This one also requires a separate RSS parser.

Although high quality handwritten blogs do very well, it is very hard to build up a huge network of those. The time and/or money sink is just gigantic, and sometimes you don’t have much luck with a particular niche. So making a combination network of both handwritten and RSS fed blogs is one way to really build yourself up without much of an outlay. With the RSS automated, you’ll have plenty of traffic generation to feed your handwritten blogs, along with income coming in from these.

Whether or not you want to actively promote your RSS blogs is up to you – the thing that I did was just make niche directories that I could dump all of my RSS blogs into. I did make my handwritten ones prominent in these directories, but the hubs like this also make it easy to keep track of just how many blogs you have per niche.

So whether you’re a diehard blogger looking for ways to expand your network painlessly, or you’re a blog newbie looking for some advice, hopefully you have found plenty of useful tips and ideas! Now get to blogging.

The blog has certainly come a long way. A few years ago, an active, popular blog would contain some great writing along with a few interesting pictures and graphics. Today, that just doesn’t cut it anymore! Thanks to a number of new innovations, bloggers can now post a number of interesting gadgets, ranging from widgets to audio files. One of the most exciting things you can post is music videos!

Music videos are a great addition to any blog – after all, everyone likes to hear a great tune! In order to host a video clip, you will need to add plugins to your blog. Some plugins are designed to work with self-hosted files while others are compatible with off-site hosted ones. Some can be used with both kinds of files. The majority of these plugins are free to use – so which one is the best? That greatly depends on what kind of end result you want. The truth is that these plugins can be as complicated or as simple as you want them to be.

It’s important to note that plugins are among the most dynamic tools on the internet today – this means that what was here yesterday could well be outdated in a few weeks! Always remember to test out your plugins first to make sure you find the one that suits you best. It’s also a good idea to keep back-ups of all your music video files – in case something does happen to the plugin, at least you won’t lose your video.

Get Started!

The process of adding music videos to your sidebar or anywhere on your blog is pretty simple, especially with regard to YouTube videos. Let’s say that you’ve watched a clip that you really like and would like to feature it on your blog. On the right-hand side of the video, you’ll notice a space that says Embed and some URL code underneath it – you will need to copy this. If you can’t find this, it means that the person who has posted the clip does not want to share this video outside of YouTube. A number of plugins, like Vipers Video Quicktags will allow you to embed videos from other sites as well like Google, Metacafe, MySpace and IFILM.

While putting music videos on your blog is definitely something to try, be careful about how you do it. For instance, don’t spam your blog with too many clips – while readers certainly don’t mind clicking a clip or two, seeing nothing but an endless line of clips can put people off. Remember that these clips do take up bandwidth so people with slow connections will have a problem with slow page loading. Do not put your clips on auto-start – if people are viewing your blog at work, the last thing they want is a music video to suddenly start playing! Be sensible but have fun, as well. Choose only the best clips and always keep an eye open for better plugins for your site. Adding music videos can definitely be a plus for any active blog!

Just search for a group with a topic or interest you might like, such as gardening, jokes, crafts, auto repair, etc. Sign up for the group, and once you start getting posts you’ll start getting ideas!

Magazines and Catalogs: I get a lot of post ideas from snail mail believe it or not. I have blogs in topics I have interests in like technology, gadgets, and music. I get catalogs and magazines in the mail like guitar magazines, CompUSA catalogs, and even newspaper ads from Best Buy and Radio Shack. If something catches my eye – I blog about it. I purposely sign up for free catalogs in the same interests as my blogs to have a constant stream of potential ideas. I stack them up at the edge of my desk and go through them whenever I need to.

Ask for Guest Posters: Some of the most successful blogs are run and owned by multiple authors. If you are in need of new ideas and quality content, why not solicit guest authors? Add a form to your site and specifically ask for new ideas and guest posters. You could even contact your favorite blog authors and outright ask them to guest post on your site!

Automating the Blogging Process
I am a HUGE procrastinator, and I’m easily distracted and I have really, REALLY bad Attention Deficit Disorder, and I’m a bit Obsessive Compulsive as well. Automating some of the blogging process has really helped me to make sure that I get some work done in an organized fashion each and every day.
Datafeedr: Datafeedr is a both an affiliate service and WordPress plugin you can purchase to create affiliate stores in WordPress. I write about this in great detail in my article series “How to Create an Affiliate Store in WordPress“. One of the features I love in datafeedr is “product dripping”. When you create an affiliate store with hundreds of products you an create posts automatically each day and have them auto-publish or “drip” to the homepage. This forces me to go back each day and re-write the dripped posts with better titles and some original content every day – and is a great way to jumpstart blog posting.

Write Multiple Posts and Schedule Days in Advance: Not a day goes by that I don’t get some sort of blog post idea. Once you get in the habit of writing these down, you’ll also start writing draft posts days ahead. This can be as simple as just writing a title and a sentence or two and saving the post as a draft, or actually writing multiple posts (alone or in a series) days ahead and scheduling them to post automatically in the future. The new scheduling feature of WordPress is awesome!

Automatically Schedule and Reuse Old Posts: I’ve written about this before, but the Scheduled Post Plugin by Dagon Design is one of my favorites! Basically it takes the oldest post in your blog and changes the timestamp to today and rotates it to the top spot on your homepage! On my blogs where I have hundreds of posts (especially the ones I don’t write a lot for anymore) – I rotate the posts and recycle them. This also forces me to check them out on a daily basis and make sure that they aren’t outdated and don’t need rewriting. This works especially well on sites that have content like jokes, recipes, or content that never really gets old. It also gives me a second chance to look them over and make sure there isn’t a new or better way to re-monetize them. This helps me to reuse all my old content AND keep the old posts fresh, clean – AND making money!

In my blog post I’ve written on Enhance your blogging skills with WordPress Plug-ins. Today I’m going to explain about advance hacks & wordpress plug-in for powering your blogging.

We all know that WordPress is best CMS for blogging, if you have bit technical skills to tweaked with coding & R& D for trying new plug-ins, then blog post is must read for you. Let’s start with WordPress Plug-in & Hacks:

Once you set up, don’t you want to know how many sales you have made? Or how many subscribers signed up your list?

So how to track a campaign?

METHOD ONE: Setting up a new sales page or subscription thank you page:

Say you have a product called myproduct at http:%%site.com/myproduct.html (I used % to stop hyperlinking this false URL)

You can rename the same sales page to myproduct1.html and upload to a folder called ‘content’ or whatever you want. Now the new URL becomes http:%%site.com/content/myproduct1.html

Now keep an unique payment link on this page. So if the buyer pays you through this link means, he/she came from that particular campaign.

Remember few things -

* Use this unique URL in only one campaign, so to see the results of that campaign.

* Add a line to the robots.txt file in your root folder, so search engines won’t crawl the new page and index. This way you can exclude visitors from search engines.

So after campaign, log-in in to your weblogger like awstats (this should be enabled by your host and most hosts provide these) and check visitors to that myproduct1.html. Get the list of buyers used that unique payment link.

So if you spent $40.00 on a campaign and got 100 visitors from awstats statistics with 4 sales from that sale link. If each sale amount is $25.00, then your returns are $100.00. Profits would be $60.00. That’s it!

Awstats can be used to track ‘thank you for subscribing pages’ after subscriptions.

Advantages -

* No upfront cost.
* Easy to set up.

Disadvantages -

* Very crude method and just gives a rough idea on how a campaign worked.
* Tedious if you have many campaigns.
* Difficult to track exact clicks.

METHOD TWO: Using a click tracker and ROI tracker script:

You can buy a script that tracks the email clicks or visitors. This little script will track the IP, referrer, date and time of the click. http://www.scripts4webmasters.com/clicktracking/index.shtml

You can set up a campaign and create a link. This link you can keep in your emails or advertisements or banner links.

So what a Click tracking script should tell you?

* Tell the number of clicks to calculate the click through ratio
* Tell the IP address of the visitor
* Tell the geographical distribution of the clicks
* Tell the date and time of clicks
* Referrers
* Clicks by time and date
* Returns on a campaign

Advantages -

* Easy to manage multiple campaigns and links.
* More accurate than above new page uploading method.
* Easy to track clicks and visitors.

Disadvantages -

* A little cost involved in buying and setting up the script.
* You should have minimum knowledge about installing script. But in long run this method is a better option than the first method.
