Having created websites for several years now, I have found that having the proper tools with which to do your job make all the difference in your overall experience. The right tools will effect a higher level of quality and professionalism on your site. Of the tools that I have used that I have come to appreciate the most are the WordPress and Joomla content management systems. The nice thing about both of these content management systems is the fact they are both highly customizable platforms. Both platforms boast extremely large libraries of modular plugins that are available for download free of charge. Thus, one has the ability to take the functionality of their website in just about any direction in that all of these plugins are ready-made. After all, that is what modular means.

This article is about the top twenty essential WordPress plugins that I would highly recommend to anyone using the WordPress CMS. Keep in mind that these are listed in alphabetical order, not order of importance.

1) Add Widgets To Page. This plugin gives you WordPress blog the ability to add Widgets to your articles and not just to the sidebar. So for instance if you want to install a widget where other bloggers can submit potential guest posts, you can add this widget to an actual page where there is plenty of room for them to work as opposed to them having to write a blog post in the sidebar.

2) All in One SEO Pack. Instead of trying to keep up with basic SEO on your WordPress blog manually, the all in one SEO pack places fields for your Title, Description and Keywords meta tags at the bottom of your new post page. You can even drag it up and place it right beneath where you write so that you do not forget you basic SEO tags and every article gets optimized.

3) Chap Secure Login. Hide your password from over-the-shoulder snoops just taking a look out of sheer curiosity. This plugin cloaks your letters and characters so that they will not be recognized by uninvited visitors.

4) Feedburner Feedsmith. This plugin detects every route that one may use to access your WordPress feed and channels them all to your Feedburner feed. The nice thing about a Feedburner feed is that it can be monitized with AdSense, if you are interested in that type of thing.

5) Google XML Sitemaps. This is a great one. his plugin will automatically build a sitemap for you and submit it to all of the major search engines each and every time your site is modified. Functionality includes prioritizing which pages are crawled as well as feedback as to whether sitemap submission was successful or not. Definitely check this one out.

6) GTranslate. Why limit your guests to those who read your language exclusively? After all, we are all on the World Wide Web. There are more languages out there than any one of us can count. This plugin boasts the ability to translate your WordPress posts in to 58 of the most commonly spoken languages and 98% of internet users as of the date of this post. The only drawback is that sometimes, people will leave comments in other languages.

7) Hal HTML Widget. If you want to customize your sidebar with some HTML for a specific purpose such as an opt-in form or rotating ads, this makes it easy for those of us that want to go this route.

Login LockDown. This is a great plugin that assists in protecting against those brute force attacks where some script on some server in some country decides it is going to crack your installation. This plugin reduces the number of login attempts from a specific IP range to a small finite number. This one is definitely essential.

9) NoFollow Free. By default, WordPress adds the no-follow attribute to all commenter URL’s. This is great if you are worried about leaking PR but bad if you are worried about deterring SEO conscious visitors. This plugin removes the no-follow attribute allowing you to show a little “link love” to those who comment on your blog.

10) Ozh’ Better Feed. This plugin adds a custom footer to your feed. Great for adding messages or links to post footers. This plugin makes your individual post footer highly customizable. This is a great plugin for syndication as the links will show up on the sites of webmaster who “scrape” your feed and post it on their website.

11) Page links to. I know that is a rather plain name, but this plugin gives a great functionality. It allows you to directly link to a webpage off of your site with a 301 or 302 redirect if you do not want to pass on your Page Rank. Great for linking out, especially if you are selling links.

12) TweetMeme Retweet Button. Are you part of the Twitter craze? Even if you are not, many people are and many fellow tweeters are looking to pass along useful information to their followers. The TweetMeme Retweet Button allows your visitors to easily post a link to your article to their Twitter as well as TweetMeme account. This gives your article great potential to go viral.

13) WordPress Database Backup. This one really needs no explanation. It is an unfortunately reality that databases are corrupted, servers fail, hackers hack, sometimes we accidentally hit the delete button and then save. Always back up your website on a regular basis. No excuses.

14) WP-ContactForm. This very important plugin makes you accessible to your readers. Sure you will get a little spam through your contact form, but on occasions you will get legitimate questions and offers from other businesses and potential joint ventures. You may get link exchange requests and you may be made aware of new services available to bloggers from firms anywhere in the world.

15) WP-CopyRightPro. This is one of my favorite plugins in that is disables the ability of the visitor to highlight, right-click, and copy the text on your webpage. This goes a long way to protect your work from individuals looking post it on their own site. This plugin was actually shown to me by a good friend of mine.

16) WP-Cumulus. OK. This plugin is really for aesthetic reasons only. It takes your tag cloud and turns it into an impressive looking flash version itself. Now, you can interact with the tags as they float in a rolling fashion. This gives your blog more of a professional look in my opinion. One nice thing about it is the fact that it is readable by crawlers and the tag links are easily followed by advanced search engines such as Google. This is a great help when it comes to getting you site completely indexed.

17) WP-SpamFree. With the rise of blog commenting as an SEO tactic as a means to gain back-links so many years ago, SPAM has become one of the fore-front issues facing bloggers. The sheer number of SPAM comments can literally overwhelm your blog if you are not prepared for it. Many comment posters are automated bots. Comments can easily number into the thousands if a keen eye is not kept on the pending comments que. This plugin automatically checks comments against an algorithm written to detect spam-like comments. The majority of SPAM comments are filtered out on the front end. Any that slip through will have the option of having their IP address blacklisted. This is a great plugin.

18) WP EzineArticles. This plugin allows you to easily submit your blog posts to the EzineArticles directory. This accomplishes several things at once. First, EA editors check your article for copies on the internet, thus informing you as to whether or not they have been copied by others. Additionally, the resource box automatically gives you back-links, so there is automatic SEO benefit. Finally, since your article is submitted to an article directory, you gain additional traffic.

19) WP OnlyWire Auto Poster. Social bookmarking is a great way to get traffic to your website. The WP OnlyWire Auto Poster auto-submits your posts to around 39 different social bookmarking sites. Like WP EzineArticles, this plugin assists in gaining back-links as well as driving additional traffic to your website.

20) WP Security Scan. This plugin also needs no explanation in that it simply scans your code as a means of detecting any malicious code that may have found its way or have been inserted into you script. Another must-have.

So there you have it. Twenty essential WordPress plugins that will greatly enhance the security, functionality, usability, retain-ability, survivability, sustainability of your blog among other things. Hopefully, you gain as much from these plugins as I have.

With the addition of the Plugin Update Notification into WordPress 2.3, it is now more important than ever before that plugin authors maintain and update their plugins on a regular basis. Failure to do so may see their plugin dropped from wordpress.org while user’s migrate to other more up-to-date plugins.

Some of the most popular WordPress plugins have already been tested and listed as WordPress 2.3 compatible plugins. Sadly many will never be compatible as their authors have given up development.

Developing a successful and popular blog or website is made easier by using WordPress, even more so now that canonical redirection and update notifications are included by default. Bloggers wishing to grow their site, increase traffic, manage content, and monetize their pages will however need to install some of the excellent plugins available. Here’s a short list of must have plugins:

“Akismet v2.02″, without this many bloggers quickly become bogged down in dealing with spam. The Akismet plugin sends a query to the Akismet servers with every comment posted and checks the users email address and their comment for spam. Akismet will automatically reject spam giving webmasters peace of mind and restoring ‘blogging innocence’.

“Backup WordPress”, the easiest and quickest way to backup your entire WordPress install, including database, themes, uploads, in fact even the entire site with core files. We all know operating a popular site requires time and effort, and when a site goes down its good to know you have a backup.

“No follow case by case”, for webmasters who really don’t want comment authors getting any link juice from their hard won efforts to build their PR. Linking to potentially bad neighborhoods or sites that aren’t in your niche can damage our site’s SERPs, luckily the no follow tag is honored by most major search engines. No follow case by case allows you to select any comment link that shouldn’t be followed, or leave the default setting which automatically applies the no follow tag to all comment links.

“Google Sitemaps Generator”, designed to work with Google, Yahoo, Ask.com and MSN Search, this plugin will generate your sitemap in plain text and compressed format, then ping Google, Ask.com and Yahoo when you update your site. The generated sitemap will also include a priority rating for each entry based on the number of comments received.

“Mint Popular Posts” utilizes Mint, one of the best tracking packages for complete analysis of your website traffic. Find out which pages your visitors are reading, which links they’re clicking, which ad’s they’re clicking, and more.

Did I miss important plugins? Yes, what about Advertising plugins? for plugins which support AdSense, there are 2 plugins that are listed in the plugin compatibility list at the time this article written, they are “AdSense Deluxe” and “AdSense Manager”, but here is another new plugin but it’s not free (although it’s pretty cheap), “DynamicAds”, it’s compatible with WordPress 2.3 and one of the the plugin’s features allows you to control how you want to rotate your ads in various locations on your site.

Those are the essential plugins that need to be firstly installed to your WordPress website.

This article was written by DynamicAds, DynamicAds is an Ad Placements Rotator plugin for WordPress that is fully compatible with WordPress 2.3, it allows you to control how you want to rotate your ads at various locations on your site.

“Google is your friend!” This statement is true now more than ever. If you’re not on Google it’s hard to get noticed, hard to get website subscribers, and most of all, it’s hard to make money online. Google is the focal point for access to all content on the web. If you’re not on Google you’re not on the Internet.

One of the best content management systems on the Internet right now is called WordPress. WordPress is used by a ton of major news organizations such as CNN, Techcrunch, and many more. It’s also used to manage personal blogs and basic websites. WordPress, in my opinion, is the easiest way to get your content published onto the Internet quickly and efficiently.

So what plugins are available for WordPress that will help you get the most out of Google? Today I’m going to do a top five list (in no particular order) that will most likely help you to get your WordPress blog search engine friendly.

All In One SEO Pack- This plugin is one of the most popular extensions on the WordPress extended website. This is because it can really give you a huge jump start when you’re initially getting started on WordPress. What it allows you to do is edit your title tags so that it will be easier for searchers to find your website. This plugin also allows you to edit the description of your website, homepage, and implement keywords so that people will be able to find your website based on the content specified by those keywords. Google Sitemaps- Google Sitemaps creates a list of all pages on your blog. This will make it easier for search engines to quickly find all of the content you have on your site. This is also very nice to have if you make allot of changes to your blog often as it will automatically ping search engines when you update your sitemap. Having a XML sitemap is recommended by Google on their Webmaster page and this plugin can be a huge help. Related Entries- This plugin is a fantastic way not only to prepare your site for search engines, it’s also a simple way to keep traffic flowing around your site. What is does is provide a list of related posts based on the content of each article so that you can keep readers interested. It’s also a fantastic way for Google to find links to other article you may have. And we all know that Google loves links. Landing Sites- This is a very unique plugin that can be very useful in certain situations. When a visitor finds your site via search engine they very rarely read deeply into the articles. What this add-on allows you to do is provide extra results(on your website) that are relevant to the search terms the visitor typed into Google to find your website. This is a fantastic way to keep search engine traffic on your website. Feedburner Feedsmith- Although this plugin doesn’t directly tie into search engine optimization it’s a great plugin to have. Also, Feedburner is owned by Google so it’s probably a good idea to use it anyway. This plugin allows you to take the RSS feed you already have and “burn it”. By burning your RSS feed on Feedburner you’ll be able to see subscription statistics, the type of feed reader your subscribers are using, and much more. They will also change your original RSS feed to a Feedburner optimized RSS feed. This is definitely one of the most important plugins any blog owner should have whether they’re optimizing for Google or not.

These are only the bare minimum of search engine optimization plugins that are available for WordPress. The best way to optimize your website is by experimenting with different things whether it’s by using a different plugin or by simply changing some of the HTML on your site. Both WordPress and Google are remarkable tools and can be very useful when it comes to website publication and indexing.

Brad Roberts is an internet entrepreneur who specializes in self promotion online. He’s very active in the online community and is available on a wide variety of social networks like Twitter . His blog can be found here . On his site you’ll find his latest articles, biography, and much more.

WordPress itself is a great platform to run your own blogs but WordPress plugins make it a lot easier to control spam comments, SEO, check for broken links, place revenue generating ads and to back up your WordPress database to name a few. Without these plugins you would require technical expertise way beyond the average blogger, not to mention the time plugins save in doing things like creating a “Contact Us” page and sorting out all those spam blog comments.

Here are the 9 plugins that I now use on all my blogs.

Akismet is a popular plugin that checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not. You can review the spam it catches under “Comments.” Without such a plugin your blog could easily become full of undesirable comments that you certainly do not want your readers to read.

All in One SEO Pack is Out-of-the-box SEO for your WordPress blog. You can use this plugin to tweak the default options for title, description, keywords and duplicate content.

Broken Link Checker checks your posts for broken links and missing images and notifies you on the dashboard if any are found. There is nothing worse getting traffic to your blog and then sending them to a web page that no longer exists. Without this plugin it would takes quite some time to regularly check all the links on all your blog posts and pages.

Google AdSense, Chitika and Kontera plugins allow you to monetize your blog and make an income from an information blog.

Contact Form 7 allows you to create a “Contact Us” page with a form people can fill in for further information or questions about your products.

Google XML Site maps plugin will generate a special XML site map which will help search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing and Ask.com to better index your blog. Another time saving plugin.

Pretty Link will shrink, track and share any URL on the Internet from your WordPress website. No more ugly affiliate links that you have to hide under hyper-linked text.

StatPress gives real time stats for your WordPress blog. This is my preference for displaying my blog stats.

WP-DBManager manages your WordPress database. Allows you to optimize database, repair database, backup database, restore database, delete backup database, drop/empty tables and run selected queries. Supports automatic scheduling of backing up and optimizing of the database. This is probably one of the most overlooked plugins for WordPress as a backup is only needed when your blog has been hacked or has failed due to technical issues. Relying on your hosting account for backups may not be a good as you think because blogs need to be backed up regularly as they are constantly changing with new posts being added regularly.

These are only a few of the many plugins available to use on your blogs. You need to consider the nature of your blog, the niche you are blogging in and other things like are you using you WordPress blog as a blog, a sales page or just a website?

You must also be aware that some plugins for WordPress can conflict with one another and cause problems with your blog. From my experience I have had I am yet to have a problem using the above combination of plugins but one must remember that plugins are always being updated and conflicts may arise with future updates.

WordPress is a fantastic tool for publishing your content on the web – although it is ostensibly a blogging tool it has now developed to become almost a fully fledged content management system (CMS). Having sung the praises of WordPress it must also be pointed out that it has areas of weaknesses. Fortunately WordPress is extensible through the use of plugins – small pieces of code / software that enhance the basic functionality of WordPress.

This article exams seven of the key plugins that you can add to your WordPress site to enhance its functionality. Plugins are very simple to add – simply go to your admin page, click on plugins then click add. The plugins outlined in this article can all be added to your site using this straightforward method. To find the actual plugins mentioned here simply type in the name of the plugin to the search box that appears after you have followed the simple steps listed above.

1) Advertising manager

A plugin that allows the flexible placement of adverts within your blog, I use it for managing adsense, click bank and other adverts. Very flexible and really takes the pain away from managing site advertising

2) All in one SEO Pack

Probably one of, if not the, most important plugins you can use. It radically overhauls the ability of WordPress to manage page titles, meta tags (particularly description and keyword tags). Although WordPress provides reasonable facilities to carry out search engine optimization on your site you will be leaving a lot on the table SEO wise if you do not install this plugin.

3) Automatic SEO links

This plugin automatically searches you posts as they are published and creates hyperlinks to either other internal pages from your site or to external pages dependant on the rules you have created. It can create these links based on single words or phrases, the target can be specified (i.e. does the link open a new window etc) and a title can be set for each link (appears during a mouse over of the link). A fantastic tool for ensuring that you have a good internal linking setup within your site and also for linking to such things as affiliate sites to help generate revenue for your site.

4) cbNET Ping optimizer

Out of the box WordPress can be setup to send out “pings” every time you update your blog, however there are some weaknesses with this inbuilt system. These weaknesses include sending out pings when a post is created even though it has been scheduled to appear at a future date rather than immediately and also sending out pings when existing posts change – this can lead to too many or inappropriate pings being generated. cbNet Ping Optimizer overcomes that problem and provides a more flexible and robust pinging platform – a must have plugin.

5) Contact Form 7

Every site should have a contact form to make it easier for users to get in touch with you – ContactForm 7 does exactly this in an easy to administer and flexible fashion. There are other ways of achieving the same functionality but none are as straightforward as this.

6) Embed iFrame

From time to time it will be necessary to embed external content into your blog – a nice way to do this is to use an iFrame. Unfortunately WordPress does not allow you to use such functionality and hence the need for the Embed iFrame plugin. It is not fancy but it does exactly what is says on the tin and adds an extremely useful piece of functionality to WordPress.

7) Google XML sitemaps

Having a sitemap can contribute to an improved search engine ranking. The Google XML sitemaps plugin is an extremely configurable and powerful automatic site map generation tool. It can be configured to regenerate the site map every time there is an update to your site, the contents of the sitemap can be specified, the output type can be set and many other factors are also configurable.

Of Course these are not the only plugins available; there is an extremely large and varied range out there for you to choose from. We will be producing more articles that look at other plugins that add useful features and functionality to your WordPress installation.

Search Engine Submitter is the leading site for your search engine ranking needs, giving you all the free tools you need to guarantee your search engine success. For your FREE Search engine submission to over 100 search engines (and loads of other free tools and resources) get along to http://www.searchenginesubmitter.com now!

* Full logs for all redirected URLs

* All URLs can be redirected, not just ones that don’t exist

* Redirection methods – redirect based upon login status, redirect to random pages, redirect based upon the referrer!

Existing features include:

* Automatically add a 301 redirection when a post’s URL changes

* Fully localized

Robots Meta

Robots Meta plugin allows you to do is to point specifically to the search engines which sections of your blog to crawl. This means that you’ll gain more respect from search engines, and likewise more traffic.

This plugin by Joost De Valk makes it possible to:

Prevent indexing of your search result pages, while still allowing the search engines to follow the links on them, by adding noindex, follow robots meta tags.

* Disallow indexing of subpages to your homepage, category pages, author pages and tag pages, to prevent duplicate content.

* Prevent indexing of your login, register and admin pages by adding noindex robots meta tags.

* Enforce a trailing slash on archives.

* Edit your .htaccess and your robots.txt from within WordPress.

* Assign robots meta tags to individual posts & pages.

* Verify your site with Google Webmaster Tools, Yahoo! Site Explorer and Bing Webmaster Tools.

* Add noarchive tags to your blog.

SEO Smart Links

Internal linking structure is the prime subject of SEO. If you have more links it just convey how well your website structure is. The problem with this is that if you had to manually go and create links to relevant and important posts you’ll spend hours and hours doing it.

Here are some advantages by Vladimir Prelovac:

* SEO Smart links allows you to specify a word, like ‘SEO’ and then link it to a post on your site. Then each time the word SEO appears on your site, it’s automatically turned into a link you specified.

* SEO Smart Links provides automatic SEO benefits for your site in addition to custom keyword lists, nofollow and much more.

* SEO Smart Links can automatically link keywords and phrases in your posts and comments with corresponding posts, pages, categories and tags on your blog.

* Further SEO Smart links allows you to set up your own keywords and set of matching URLs. Finally SEO Smart links allows you to set nofollow attribute and open links in new window.

* It is a perfect solution to get your blog posts interlinked or add affiliate links to other sites.

* Everything happens completely transparent, and you can edit the options from the administration settings panel.

When it comes to WordPress plugins, there are lots of them readily available for free on the Internet that will help to spruce up your WordPress blog. You can check out the WordPress Plugin site for a whole list of WordPress plugins available. However, before I continue, do take note that your WordPress blog must be a self-hosted one in order for you to be able to install plugins.

You can download the plugin, and install it by going to the “Plugin” section from within your WordPress Dashboard, and select the option “Add New”.

Thereafter, you need to select the “Upload” option and then you can upload the plugin (in zip file) by selecting the file and click on the “Install Now” button.

When it comes to the top WordPress plugins, there are 5 that I would highly recommend.

In this post, I’m going to share with you top 5 WordPress plugins that you should install in your WordPress blog:

1. Akismet

This plugin can be found in your list of plugins by default. To use it, simply activate it. What this plugin does is that it helps to filter out spam comments and automatically delete them after 30 days.

No doubt this plugin manage to help screen out spam comments, some genuine comments also get filtered at times – What you should do is to visit your spam folder there and then to check out whether there are any genuine comments that are “accidentally” filtered by the plugin.

2. All In One SEO Pack

This plugin helps to optimize your WordPress blog for the search engines – Where you can specifically specify your title, description, as well as tags for your main index page, posts as well as pages – All these will help your WordPress blog to get ranked based on the keywords and key phrases you specify in those columns.

3. Ultimate Google Analytics

This plugin will automatically insert Google Analytics code into your blog – And capture statistics about your website – Such as visitor volume, from where your visitors arrive from, their duration of stay, etc.

However, before this plugin will work, you need to sign up for a free account with Google Analytics.

4. AddToAny: Share/Bookmark/Email Button

This plugin will allow your blog readers to either share, or bookmark your web page, as well as email this web page to their friends.

When activated, this plugin will add an icon to the bottom of your posts and pages.

5. Google XML Sitemaps

This plugin will generate a compatible sitemap file of your WordPress blog which is supported by Ask, Google, MSN Search, as well as Yahoo.

Sitemaps are an easy way for webmasters to inform search engines about pages on their sites that are available for crawling (and indexing in the searching engines).

A sitemap is an XML file that lists URLs for a site along with additional metadata about each URL (when it was last updated, how often it usually changes, and how important it is, relative to other URLs in the site) so that search engines can more intelligently crawl the site.

Here is the third and final installment in my The Best Free WordPress Plugins, all brought to you courtesy of the most amazing free tool, that everyone who has a WordPress blog should be aware of and using. Just the time it saves you alone, makes it worth a hundred dollars.

You make think that I\’m giving away all of the secrets by telling you all of the plugins, this awesome FREE Tool uses, but the real power lies in what it does next. After using Google Key Word Tracker or another tool to determine a bunch of the most focused keywords for your blog, you enter these details and over 100 tweaks are made instantly. This is where the real power is, having the plugins is one thing, using them properly is what makes them work. Unless you know lots of code and internet jargon, you will find making these tweaks yourself, time consuming and difficult.

Why not have it done simply and quickly. Check out the link at the end of this article to find out where to get the Traffic Getting SEO Plug In for WordPress blogs, free!

Here\’s the final list of WordPress plugins that you need to get your blog ranking in google;

Post Plugin Library – This is a required plugin library for some other plugins. Install this plugin to full utilize all of the optional plugins.

Popular Posts – is another means of deep linking and enticing your users to read popular content on your blog, again, increasing pageviews and traffic.

FeedWordpress – adds the ability to read RSS feeds and convert each item in the RSS feed to a post. Doing this will create pages of content for your blog. The more pages that you create for search engines to read increases the number of pages indexed. The more pages that get index increases the chances that your blog posts\’ long tail keywords will become top results on search engines. This is a great way to build traffic to your site by having more pages indexed highly for long tail keywords.

Cross Linker – will automatically create links for different keywords phrases. The keyword will be automatically converted in to a link that points to any page or post you choose.

Permalink Migrator – this simple plugin grabs the slug from the end of the request and checks if there\’s a post with this slug living somewhere else on your blog. If so, it will generate a “301 Moved Permanently” error, which automatically forwards your visitor (and Googlebot) to the new location of your post. It\’s simple, but effective.

Get the Free Traffic Getting SEO Plugin tool and having you blog running like an experts, within only minutes!

WordPress plugins can make or break your blogging experience. Being fairly new to blogging has been a real learning experience, not so much writing articles and sending them out to all my social sites, but in trying to optimize the wordpress site so that it’s hitting on all eight cylinders, so to speak. As I read other bloggers articles I pick up bits and pieces of what they have experienced so far, and I’ve decided that having the right wordpress plugins working for you can make life a lot easier. I’ve got a list of 12 plugins, that I’m going to recommend and hopefully shorten your learning curve, and make your blogging a more enjoyable experience.

No 1. Do Follow…This removes the evil nofollow attribute that WordPress adds in comments. You need this to keep visitors coming back for more.

No 2. AddThis Social Bookmarking Widget…Help your visitors promote your site! The widget allows any visitor to bookmark your site easily with many popular services.

No 3. All in One SEO Pack-Pro Version…It’s setup and ready to go right out of the box. It will optimize your site for search engine rankings, plus shorten your url’s by adding a number at the end, versus having a url that winds up being a mile long.

No 4. CommentLuv….Plugin to show a link to the last post from the commenters blog by parsing the feed at their given URL when they leave a comment. It’s rewards your readers and encourages them to return and make more comments.

No 5. Commissions Automator…..This plugin is really needed but if you’re interested in making money on line, it’s helpful. It automatically post instant commission promotions to your blog, with your affiliate ID included, so when someone buys the product, you get the commission. Sweet!

No 6. FD Feedburner Plugin….Redirects all feeds to a Feedburner feed which then sends your blog post out across the entire internet.

No. 7. Onlywire… This is a social bookmarker that will send your blog post out to millions of sites, with only one push of the button.

No 8. PostSwapper.com Plugin…..You can swap links with other bloggers to posts that are related to yours. Build link popularity automatically and easily. Backlinks are one item that is considered when webcrawlers and search engines are looking at ranking your site.

No. 9…Scribe….This plugin quickly checks your new blog post content against SEO best practices, utilizing the Scribe Content Optimizer. You get a readability score, plus see what your keyword density is so you can add more or remove some. This tool makes a huge difference when it comes to SEO Optimization.

No. 10….Tweetmeme….This plugin simply adds a button to your blog which allows your guest to retweet your blog post out to their list of tweeter followers. Nice way to take advantage of someone Else’s list.

No 11….What Would Seth Godin Do….This plugin allows you to display a custom welcome message to a new visitor and a different custom message to a returning visitor. Pretty neat. People like to be treated special so what better way to do that.

No 12…Wordspinner…This Free plugin allows WordPress to “spin” the content in your blog. Spinning is a SEO term which means that you write articles in a way so that when they are viewed, some words or sentences are replaced with synonyms to produce a “randomly” worded, but still grammatically correct article.

To find more information about the plugins do a Google search, download the plugin into a temp directory and then go to plugins in your wordpress blog, click new and upload the zip file and then install. Pretty simple process and now you up a optimized blog that should bring you hundreds of visitors thanks to your new wordpress plugins.

Word Press has so many great Plugins, that its sometimes hard to decide which ones you need.

Here is a list of the plugins I use on my Word Press Blog. I will also explain why I use each one.

To find the plugin, copy the plugin name and in your WordPress Admin area, on the left bar under Plugins, click on “Add New”. Paste it into the Search Box and click “Search Plugins”.

You can find all of them except the first one, “Add Sig”. Just do a search in Google and follow the instructions on how to install it.

Add Sig: This is one that I love. Add a custom signature to the bottom of posts with the author’s information. You can have links in the signature and anything with HTML in each Post.

Add to Any: Share/Bookmark/Email Button : Help readers share, bookmark, and email your posts and pages using any service. Everyone needs this so your readers can share your posts with their Social Media sites.

AdRotate: Make making money easy with AdRotate. Add advanced banners to your website using the simplest interface available! This is great for testing which of your banners get more clicks. Remember TEST TEST TEST!

Akismet: Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not. Everyone needs this plugin on their blogs.

Best Post Page: This plugin creates a page of your best posts based on views and comments. Great little plugin, shows the posts which get the most traffic on you site. You can set how many posts show up.

CommentLuv: Plugin to show a link to the last post from the commenters blog by parsing the feed at their given URL when they leave a comment. Rewards your readers and encourage more comments. This is one I am just starting to use, but it is recommended by some of the top bloggers.

Google XML Sitemaps: This plugin will generate a sitemaps.org compatible sitemap of your WordPress blog which is supported by Ask.com, Google, MSN Search and YAHOO. Another must use plugin, as it will help the Search Engines find and index all your blog posts.

OptinPop: OptinPop is designed to help you build your blog subscriber list by showing your visitors a pop-up window containing the optin form of any webpage you create. You can tune the appearance of your pop-up window and other parameters on the OptinPop Settings page within the Plugins menu. This is a great plugin, as you can use it to build your list. As all great Internet Marketer’s should know, “The Money is in the List”. I use this on my blog to help build my email list.

Publish To Facebook: Publishes posts, pages or both to your Facebook Mini-Feed directly from WordPress. Great plugin that automatically publishes your blog post to your Facebook account. I love this plugin. Check out my Facebook Page and send me a Friend request.

Sidebar Photoblog: Share your daily photos on your blog sidebar easily. Great plugin that is easy to use and your pictures show up in your blog.

Smart Youtube: Insert YouTube videos in posts, comments and RSS feeds with ease and full customization. Great way to post YouTube Videos in your blog.

StatPress: Real time stats for your blog. This is another one that is a must have for everyone. You need to know where your viewers are coming from, what search terms they are using to find your blog, and what they are doing on your website. Great way to find keywords that people are using to find your site and then you are able to use them more in your posts.

Twitter Tools: A complete integration between your WordPress blog and Twitter. Bring your tweets into your blog and pass your blog posts to Twitter. Show your tweets in your sidebar, and post tweets from your WordPress admin. I like using this plugin as it automatically posts a tweet to twitter, using a URL shrinker to make your tweet the right size.

Ultimate Google Analytics: Enable Google Analytics on your blog. Has options to also track external links, mailto links and links to downloads on your own site. Here is Google’s Analytics, plugin that works just like “StatPress”, but you can get a lot more useful information. I like to use both, as StatPress is for a quick look, but I use Google Analytics for a more indepth look at my Stats.

blogging, blogger,blogspot,make money from blog

Each of the WordPress plugins listed below will encourage visitors to join the conversation on your blog. Conversations are the first step to building a strong blog community. They also encourage repeat traffic as people want to be a part of the ongoing discussion. As the conversation and your blog’s community grow, so will your blog’s traffic!

1. CommentLuv

blogging, blogger,blogspot,make money from blog

Adding the CommentLuv WordPress plugin to your blog is a great way to show your readers that you value them and the comments they leave on your blog posts. With CommentLuv, every comment left on your blog automatically includes a snippet and link back to the commenter’s most recent blog post (assuming the identifying information in their submitted comment form tracks back to a blog with a feed from which the most recent blog post can be scraped). Bloggers love this WordPress plugin because it can increase traffic to their own blogs more so than a traditional comment link from their names can.

2. Show Top Commentators

Most people are inherently competitive and like recognition. The Show Top Commentators WordPress plug-in leverages both of those innate desires by recognizing and rewarding the most vocal people in your blog’s community. Using the Show Top Commentators plugin, you can create an automated list (which you can reset on a daily, weekly or monthly basis) that displays a list of people who are the most frequent commentators on your blog. The list includes a Google-friendly link back to each commenter’s blog or website. A word of caution, many users report an increase in spam comments when using the Show Top Commentators WordPress plugin. However, the plugin does include settings to help you filter out spam comments.

3. Subscribe to Comments

The Subscribe to Comments WordPress plugin is a must have for any blogger looking to increase comments on his or her blog. With this plugin, your blog readers can subscribe to receive email alerts when new comments are left on posts they’re interested in. It’s a great way to draw people back into a conversation that they’ve already expressed interest in.

4. Do Follow

The Do Follow Plugin for WordPress removes the NoFollow tag from all comments left on your blog thereby rewarding commenters by ensuring links left within their comments count in Google searches.

5. WordPress Thread Comment

The WordPress Thread Comment plugin enhances the functionality of commenting on WordPress blogs by enabling people to comment on any existing comment within a thread of comments and view those comments as a threaded or nested conversation. Some users report having to modify the email messages and other wording that is programmed into the plugin to clean up grammar, etc., but the functionality is great, particularly for blogs that receive a lot of comments.

6. Most Commented

The Most Commented plugin automatically generates and displays a list of the posts on your blogs that have the most comments. The theory is that people will be interested in posts that other people are talking about. Posts with a lot of comments attract people to click on the links and take a closer look to see what the buzz is about.

WordPress is arguably the most used CMS (Content Management System) online. It is partly due to its flexibility as a blog platform, and partly due to the large number of plugins and themes made by its large community of users.

However, this huge choice of plugins can easily confuse a new user. Therefore, for those of you who are unsure which plugins to use, here’s a list of the top 5 must use WordPress plugins:

1. Akismet – Akismet is pre-bundled when you install WordPress. It is made by the same company that makes WordPress. Akismet is a spam blocking plugin that works very efficiently to block out spam comments.

If you run a large blog, you really need this plugin. The amount of spam doing the rounds online is tremendous. If you were to moderate these comments one by one, you would have to spend hours maintaining your blog. Akismet makes the whole process automatic and saves you countless hours of effort.

2. All in One SEO – What good is a blog if no one reads it? With All in One SEO plugin, all your in-site SEO needs will be taken care of automatically. It will create meta tags, meta descriptions, etc. on its own. If you want your blog to be found by Google or other search engines, this is a must-have plugin.

3. Google XML Sitemaps – This plugin automatically creates a sitemap of your blog to aid Google’s spiders in indexing it. Sitemaps are just what you think they mean: a map of your site. They can make it much easier for Google to find and index your site, so this plugin is a must have, regardless of the size of your blog.

4. One Click Plugin Updater – If you’re like me, you probably hate to update your plugins one-by-one. Most plugins have several updates a month, and updating them can be a real pain. One Click Plugin Updater simplifies the whole process by giving you the option to update all your plugins with a single click. A huge timesaver if you find yourself using too many plugins.

5. WordPress Database Backup – You never know when some unfortunate accident may befall your blog. Once, one very large blog of mine got hacked and consequently, I lost my entire database. I didn’t have a backup database, so I had to create everything from scratch (something that took me over 100 hours). With WordPress Database Backup, you can get it to make automatic backups and mail it to you on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.

So there you have it: 5 plugins that are essential to any WordPress installation!

John’s latest blog is about grooms cake ideas. You can visit it at www.GroomsCake.org

Everyone hates spam, especially when it’s on your own website. Here are a few valuable WP security plugins that help add an extra barrier to your WordPress blog by reducing the amount of unwanted spam.

WP-SpamFree

WP-SpamFree is a great WP security plugin to add to your arsenal to help keep out automated blog comment spam from bots, including trackback and pingback spam. This plugin is very easy to install and can be activated instantly. And best of all, it’s free!

It also allows you to see which spam has been blocked with the new “Blocked Comment Logging Mode.” In addition, the updated version provides you with a blacklist filter, where anything that matches a string will be blocked.

Some of the key features include:

Strong spam protection (works like a firewall)
A dashboard counter to track all of the blocked spam
Uses very minimal bandwidth overhead and works quietly in the background

SI CAPTCHA Anti-Spam

A CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart) is an extra layer of protection that is commonly seen on many blogs and websites (not only WordPress).

Normally, a CAPTCHA is used as a security measure to prevent abuse from bots and other automated programs. Generally, you’ll see a CAPTCHA (with warped letters, shapes, or colors) when you try to add comments, send messages through contact forms, submit posts on classified ads, etc.

Mike Challis released a plugin called SI CAPTCHA Anti-Spam for WordPress that basically allows you to add a CAPTCHA to different areas of your site, including comment forms, registration forms, and logins. Everything can be configured directly from your admin panel.

Remember, there are tons of modifications that need to be done in order to secure your blog (server, database, logins, etc.). Themes and customization are fun features of WordPress, but security is always the most important.

Learn how to start securing your WordPress site now. Be sure to stop by and sign up for our WordPress Security newsletter and you’ll receive your free e-book, “7 Plugins for WordPress Security.”

Did you know there is a new open source community project underway called the WordPress Plugin Database, located at wp-plugins.net, which is a user-friendly web site with about 2,500 WordPress plugins and counting?

”The WordPress Plugin Database is a categorized list of WordPress plugins, complemented by a WordPress Plugin Manager that allows one-click installs,” say the database developers. “For users, wp-plugins.net provides a browseable list of plugins, and RSS feeds you can subscribe to in order to get notified of new plugins and updates. For developers, wp-plugins.net makes it easy to publicize your plugin and keep users informed of new versions.”

As for us everyday non-developer WordPress fanatics who are constantly searching for cool new plugins to make our site attract visitors and earn some money, the WordPress Plugin Database is populated with plugins that can help generate web site traffic to your blog, sell your ebooks, share web site links, podcast your message, offer a public forum for returning visitors, and fight spam in the process.

Below is a short list of free plugins I discovered in this new database that can drive traffic to your blog, sell terrific products, and keep visitors on your site for a while – the perfect monetization strategy for every blogging entrepreneur.

Would you like to add a Public Forum to your blog? Simple Forum is a free plugin that is described as a “simple and straightforward forum that does the sort of stuff a forum is supposed to.” Simple Forum currently has 71 features you can use to develop a growing community of returning visitors who are encouraged to speak to each other, and who share common interests with you, the brilliant blog owner and forum manager expert. Search engine spiders love the fresh content provided by a community forum. Simple Forum can support your forum member’s comments in 17 languages: stuff.yellowswordfish.com/simple-forum/

Would you like to monetize your blog by selling your products and services with a WordPress shopping cart? The free WP eCommerce Lite shopping cart plugin is described as “an industrial strength, elegant, easy to use, fully featured shopping cart application suitable for selling your products, services, and or fees online.” You can upgrade to the eCommerce Gold plugin for just $15. If you don’t have any products to sell, you can set up this shopping cart to sell products offered by Amazon.com, Art.com, and so on: instinct.co.nz/?p=16

Reciprocal link directories create backlinks to your site that helps improve your site’s search engine ranking, and most shared link directories are not free. Plus, most blogs don’t offer a shared link directory. The free WP Link Directory is described as “the first and the only one link directory plugin on the Internet for WordPress admin to store and maintain a set of links in classified categories.” This link directory plugin can match your blog theme: alectang.com/wordpress-link-directory/

Podcasting is a web site traffic generation phenomenon that has seen over 6 million people download MP3 podcasts. That’s not including the millions of people who prefer to listen without downloading. Here’s an idea. Why not record your blog articles as a podcast, and then submit your articles to podcast directories? Even if you don’t like the sound of your voice, there are software programs online that you can use to speak your written words with a more pleasing sound.

PodPress is a free plugin described as “a dream plugin for Podcasters using WordPress,” and “a full-blown Podcasters Plugin for WordPress.” With Podpress, you can post a podcast along with your article for visitors to download, or listen to without downloading. Why not interview an expert in your niche by telephone, and post your conversation as a podcast with your article? mightyseek.com/podpress

And finally, every high-traffic blogger would love to find a way to eliminate spam. Spam Karma 2 (SK2) is a free spam fighting plugin developed by the WordPress Plugin Directory guys. SK2 is described as “an anti-spam plugin for the WordPress blogging platform. It is meant to stop all forms of automated blog spam effortlessly, while remaining as unobtrusive as possible to regular commenters.” wp-plugins.net/doc/sk2/

By the way, don’t forget to upgrade your WordPress blog to the latest 2.3 version released in September of 2007. WordPress 2.3 offers new article keyword tagging features, which means improved search engine ranking and more web site traffic for you: wordpress.org/download/

Jefferson Hennessy is a feature article journalist, Webmaster and article marketer. Add affiliate anchor links automatically to your WordPress blog posts: http://jeffersonhennessy.com/wpaffiliate.htm Automatically post your articles to Web 2.0 sites: http://jeffersonhennessy.com/wpsocial.htm

I have a bunch of wordpress blogs on the internet on a variety of topics from exercise science and nutrition, polar bears as well as Gordon Ramsay. I have all of these blogs run by WordPress and have a FREE Plugin management tool by internet marketing guru Jeff Johnson.

As part of this program you get a link to all of the top wordpress plugins, which install with one simple click (no searching and jumping between websites uploading and all of that mucking around). Then you just pick a bunch of keywords that your blog wants to be optimised for in google and enter them. The next step but best of all after installing all of them, you press one button and the settings are optimised. Simple,

Did I say that this plugin was FREE. Follow the link at the end of this article to be taken to page to get this amazing tool completely free!

Here is a list of some of the plugins that this amazing tool uses, along with a description of what each plug-in does!

All-In-One-SEO Pack – This amazing plugin sets up your blog\’s title tags and metatags to include keywords and descriptions. Different title tags place keywords in the title tags and custom meta tags for each blog post, creating more unique content for search engines.

Google Sitemap Generator – generates a sitemap for search engines to pick up. Search engines give priority to sites with optimized sitemaps.

Auto Tagger – Here is another plugin this awesome tool uses. It works with Yahoo! to determine keywords related to the content of the article. These keywords are then added as tags to your blog and show up on your posts meta keywords. It\’s always best to create your own tags in WP when writing a post, but just in case you forget this plugin will create them for you.

Sociable – Another incredible plugin that adds links to the bottom of every article allowing your users to share your articles with popular social networks such as Digg, Technorati, and Twitter. This helps people find your site when they are searching popular social networking sites and hopefully brings them back to your blog for more.

Ping Optimizer – I don;t even understand what pingin really is, so any tool that autonates the process is a load off my mind! This one notifies blog servers that your blog has recently pulished new content. It shares your content across other networks, increasing your blog\’s exposure, but excessively pinging these servers can get your site banned or blocked from future blog pinging. So you have to make sure that you are pinging these servers when necessary. This plugin will handle when and when not to ping these blog servers, optimizing how often you ping.

This is Part I of a three part series.

These WordPress plugins will help you drive traffic. Just install them one by one then go back to your homepage and make sure your site is still operational the way it should be. I have used all of these plugins at one stage or another, some of them are deactivated now, but none of these gave me any misfortune with my WordPress Thesis Theme.

A couple of these plugins take some time to set up correctly and my suggestion would be write down all your logins, usernames & passwords to refer back to in case you get in a muddle and forget, this may save you a lot of time and frustration later.

I am speaking from past experience “not enjoyable ones” and now I write every username, password & email down just in case. It really sux when you have computer probs and lose all your automatic logins.

The best way to install these is to login to your wordpress admin panel and goto plugins >- Add New >- Search. When you acquire what you want just install it from right there in the in your site. You ought to see an Install Button on the right hand side of the elected plugin.

If you at this point don’t own a WordPress blog just go to my How To Set Up A WordPress Blog post and follow the video instructions.

I haven’t gone into a lot of detail with these as the best explanations are with the plugins themselves.

Addtoany: Help people share & bookmark your content with the world’s best sharing button
Askimet: Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not. You need a WordPress.com API key to use it. You can review the spam it catches under “Comments.”

All In One Video Pack: This is not just another video embed tool – it includes every functionality you might need for video and rich-media, including playing, uploading and editing.

All In One Video Pack Sidebar Widget: A sidebar widget that allows you to display the most recent posted videos and comments in your blog.

Auto Tweet: Adds a check box to the Write Post editor (both the TinyMCE/Visual Editor and the advanced editor). When this box is checked, publishing your post will also send the post to Twitter. If a post is longer than 140 characters, it will be truncated. Auto Tweet creates a new column in the “posts” table of your database to mark which posts have already been submitted and will use that information to help prevent double-posting.

Blogrush Click Maximizer: BlogRush Click Maximizer allows you to control what you want to display in BlogRush. You can include or exclude any post you want and also use alternate – short and catchy title just for BlogRush.

Google Analytics for WordPress: This plugin makes it simple to add Google Analytics with extra search engines and automatic clickout and download tracking to your WordPress blog

Google XML Sitemaps: This plugin will generate a sitemaps.org compatible sitemap of your WordPress blog which is supported by Ask.com, Google, MSN Search and YAHOO.

Hello Dolly: This is not just a plugin, it symbolizes the hope and enthusiasm of an entire generation summed up in two words sung most famously by Louis Armstrong: Hello, Dolly. When activated you will randomly see a lyric from Hello, Dolly in the upper right of your admin screen on every page

Hocus Pocus Buttons: is a WordPress-Plugin that provides sidebar widget with a widerange set of buttons for social bookmarking websites. However each button is only visible to the user if he has visited the corresponding site lately. The goal is not to disturb the user by using too many buttons / links (since he could probably only use one or two at all) and rather only show relevant services.

OnlyWire: Onlywire is a service that allows you to spread your content to multiple social sites from one place with the touch of a single button
Customizable Search Widget: Adds a Customizable Search Widget to give you more control over how the search box looks on your sidebar.

Embed YouTube Videos in WordPress: Include YouTube videos inside posts or pages and also in a widget. Works in WP version 2.5+

Featured Content Gallery: Used to create a customizable rotating image gallery anywhere within your WordPress site.

Popularity Contest: This will enable ranking of your posts by popularity; using the behavior of your visitors to determine each post’s popularity. You set a value (or use the default value) for every post view, comment, etc. and the popularity of your posts is calculated based on those values. Once you have activated the plugin, you can configure the Popularity Values and View Reports. You can also use the included Widgets and Template Tags to display post popularity and lists of popular posts on your blog.

Social Profilr: LifeStreaming Plugin for Wordpres

SocioFluid: SocioFluid is a social bookmarking plugin for wordpress. For details you can check the SocioFluid Homepage.

StatPress Seolution: Based on Statpress [Reloaded] with some more improvements (better crawling stats of important search engines, module structured code, Flash charts)

TagALLY-for-WP: Want to show more in your tag cloud? Want more people to know your blog? The plugin can help you to realize these ideas. If you are the first time to activate the plugin, please be sure to read the tagally-for-wp-help.html file , especially “Export posts and related tags” section in the file.

Thesis Import/Export: Import/Export all Thesis settings and OpenHook. For Thesis Theme.

We Choose The WordPress Thesis Them Because It Is So Robust Has Brilliant SEO Functions And Is In Our Opinion The Best WordPress Theme On The Market Today.

If you would like to purchase the thesis them you can go to our affiliate Thesis Site to purchase. They have a very good support forum, with exceptional service if you run into trouble. We can also answer most questions involving Thesis. You will be presented with two options which are

1: Personal $87USD

2: Development $164USD

If you are looking at purchasing the personal option and would like the setup done for you: Purchasing the theme, uploading it to your host, changing the layout, replacing the header with your own header and setting up your requested plug-ins then We offer this service for a cost of $120 USD. Just fill in the form below with your contact details so we can get your website up and running. What you will need for this service is a domain name and a website hosting account. Just follow the links in the resource box of this article to view the video training on our site where we show how to do this. I use Justhost, simply because of what they offer and another good one is HostGator, both of these hosting site offer around the same so it really comes down to personal choice .

More Plugins:

Thesis OpenHook: This plugin allows you to insert arbitrary content into the many hooks that the Thesis Theme Framework provides. Never again edit a file! Based on K2 Hook Up and GPLed.

Top Level Categories: Removes the prefix from the URL for a category. For instance, if your old category link was /category/catname it will now be /catname

TweetMeme Retweet Button: Adds a button which easily lets you retweet your blog posts.

What Would Seth Godin Do: Displays a custom welcome message to new visitors and another to return visitors.

WP-Smiley: Define smilies as your way!

HGK FeedBack Form: Drop-in feedback / contact form for your WordPress blog. Works for pages and posts “Thats it below”

So there you have it, this should keep you busy for a while and dont fail to remember to make sure you dont double up on things, some of the social media plugins might seem like they will double up, but when you look more closely you will notice that one may not have every site the other has so just enable what you need.

There is a virtual endless list of plugins, for example… there are plugins specifically made for Amazon ect… thats why I have only covered the prime traffic generating helpers.

If you know of a great plugin that I haven’t mentioned here, please leave a comment and let me know.

The free open source blogging platform WordPress continues to be a popular tool for internet marketers who want to create websites fast. Though feature rich, an out-of-the-box WordPress install lacks some features that many internet marketers rely on. Fortunately, there are many free Worpdress plugins that provide these features. Here are three of the most popular.

Keep in mind, before you install any of these plugins, you’ll want to make certain you have the current version of WordPress installed to avoid any errors or possible vulnerabilities. The latest upgrade of the platform can always be updated at WordPress.org’s main site.

All In One SEO Pack – Although blog traffic can come from many sources besides the search engines, there’s no doubt that free natural search engine traffic is still very important to the success of any website or blog. With the All In One Seo pack plugin, your WordPress blog will be automatically optimized for onsite SEO. This plugin saves hours of time over tweaking themes, options and individual plugins to acheive the same results.

Please note that because the search engines often change the way they rank pages, you’ll want to have the most current version of this plugin. Check back frequently on their main site to make sure your plugin is up to date.

Adsense Plugin – This plugin has been around for a while, but it is upgraded to work with the current version of WordPress. Seems the popularity of adsense never goes away, even if the earnings per click have gone down over the past few years. If you want a quick and easy way to get adsense or even Yahoo Publisher Network ads showing up on your WordPress blogs, and you want an easy way to control where they show up and how they look, this is a must have plug-in. The learning curve is very fast with this plugin, and users will enjoy tweaking the settings to increase ad clickthroughs and profits.

Remember though, Adsense isn’t your only option for monetizing your blog. You can also run paid ads yourself by dealing directly with other sites that want to advertise. Though more profitable, it is also more time consuming.

FeedWordPress – Feedwordpress is a plugin that takes rss feeds and creates full pages out of them on your blog automatically. It should not be used alone, as your site will start to look like a scraper site. When added to a blog with original content though, it can greatly increase traffic to your site.

A couple of warnings though, the learning curve with this plugin is high and you need to make sure you have permission to use the rss feeds you program this plugin with. Most sites that have rss feeds available also provide a copy of their terms of service for using the feeds, so be sure to check those out. Not complying with another site’s TOS can lead to nasty emails or even a cease and desist letter, so consider yourself warned.

Bonus Plugin: A new opt-in plugin for WordPress has just been released. The FasterIM Opt-in plugin allows webmasters to add unblockable popover opt-in forms to your blogs instantly. This plugin is also free and can be downloaded at: http://www.fasterinternetmarketing.com/FasterIM-OptIn

Blogger used to be a good blogging platform, especially for beginners. It was easy to use and setup, and not much technical know-how was required. There’s one major setback to using Blogger, though. You can’t take advantage of social bookmarking sites, at least not as effectively as you can with using WordPress. There are numerous WordPress Plugins, and some take advantage these sites.

These social sites act as a “vote” for your website. When people bookmark your blog posts or articles, they are sharing them with others. Other people pick up on your content, and they might bookmark them as well. The more votes the better. Google loves content, that’s no mystery. Google will reward your site for that content and the fact that high authority social bookmarking sites are linking to it. This means more traffic! A lot more in fact.

So how do we take advantage of these social sites when blogging? The answer is WordPress Plugins. Blogger doesn’t give us any way to automatically bookmark every post we make. It has to be done manually. That’s very time consuming! Services like OnlyWire or SocialMarker can make this a lot easier, but you still have to take the time to use those services.

There is a much easier way to drive this traffic to your blog. You have to be using WordPress to take advantage of this. WordPress is probably the most popular blogging platform, and it’s no wonder why that is. It requires a little more technical knowledge, but don’t be scared away. The benefits are far greater!

WordPress makes use of Plugins. WordPress Plugins are basically little applications that perform a function or process. There are numerous Plugins that were made for WordPress, and there will be many more no doubt. They all serve a different purpose.

Here are some WordPress Plugins that you DON’T want to be without so that you can utilize the power of social bookmarking sites:

ShareThis – Allows users to share and bookmark your posts.

AddThis Social Bookmarking Widget – This allows your readers to bookmark your posts.

ShareThis and AddThis are pretty much the same thing. It doesn’t hurt to have both. You want to make it as easy as possible for your visitors to bookmark your posts.

OnlyWire Autosubmitter – This will automatically submit your posts to your OnlyWire account.

Sociable – Automatically adds links on your posts to popular social bookmarking sites.

Tweet My Blog – This will automatically post a tweet to your Twitter account when you make a new post, bringing more traffic to your blog. You can sign up for Tweet My Blog at my blog; there is a link in the resource box. You’re also going to need a Twitter account. So grab that and start getting followers, the more the better.

This is just a small example of the WordPress Plugins that are available. You want to make sure you have these Plugins installed so you get traffic from the social bookmarking sites. The potential here is huge, and you don’t want to miss out. If you’re not yet using WordPress to blog, I suggest you get on board.

What are blog plugins and why do I need one? A plug in, is a download you can get for free at many different places on the Internet. There are many different plugins for various functions. Depending on what you are trying to do you will need different plugins. Most bloggers will tell you what they use but that doesn’t necessarily mean you must have them.

There are a few plugins that are essential to have if you want your blog to function correctly and get recognized by the search engines with each post. I won’t convert search engine optimization plug-in in this but here are just a few that I use and hear over and over again:

My Live Signature:
This free plugin allows you to easily add a real and personal signature on your posts, pages and blog. The plugin is extremely easy to use and allows a lot of option to integrate your signature into your blog. You can choose the signature location (i.e. at the end of each post, at the end of a page or anywhere in your posts), your signature can be of different style in different location!

Disqus:
Disqus is a service and tool for web comments and discussions. The Disqus comment system can be plugged into any website, blog, or application. Disqus makes commenting easier and more interactive. Disqus will give you the following functionalities: Threaded comments and replies, notifications and replies by email, subscribe and RSS options, powerful moderation and admin tools, support for Disqus community widgets, connected with a large discussion community that will increased exposure and readership.

Digg Digg:
Digg Digg is a WordPress plugin that is used to generate social vote button, which include Digg, Reddit, Dzone, Yahoo Buzz, TweetMeme (twitter), fbShare (facebook), Polladium, StumbleUpon, Delicious, Sphinn, Post comments and Google Buzz buttons. You will have:
1) Buttons Integration Type: Left Float Content; Right Float Content; Before Content; After Content.
2) Buttons Control Display: Display at Home page; Display at Static page; Display at Post Page; Display at Category Page; Display at Archive Page.
3) Buttons weight to decide the priority order (sorting).

Onlywire Button:
OnlyWire is a free Internet based program that enables you to link many social bookmarking sites into one account. Once you’ve set up your account and implemented OnlyWire into your blog, you’ll have the opportunity to submit your content to social bookmarking sites such as Delicious, Digg, StumbleUpon, Twitter, and Yahoo Bookmarks, to name just a few.

Sociable:
Automatically add links to your favorite social bookmarking sites on your posts, pages and in your RSS feed. You can choose from 99 different social bookmarking sites! You will be able to: Build a community; Invite your friends to the blog community.

Wp Greet Box:
This plugin lets you show a different greeting message to your new visitors depending on their referrer url. You can also set a default greeting message for new visitors suggesting them to subscribe to your RSS feed. Having these targeted suggestions will help your blog increase exposure, loyal readership, and reader interaction.

There are many other plugins, getting and using plugins will depend greatly on the purpose of your blog and what your market will like. Always keep your visitors/customers first in mind when you are planning your blog and content.

The Plugins are like enormous icing over a cake for a feature-rich, open source blog engine like B2Evolution. Why are we calling them icing? Because Plugins contribute further to the feature list of software, just like a cherry or dollops of chocolate are used on the top of the cake for added taste and visual appeal.

The plugins as new features introduced in the Phoenix version of the software. The feature is designed to allow 3rd party developers to contribute to the existing software to add to its functionality or additional displays.

The B2Evolution plugins include several text formatting plug-ins such as Textile, Auto-P, Greymatter, BB code, Texturize, and graphic smilies.

In the B2Evolution Plugin Directory you will also find pluging which facilitates full integration with third party tools such as Gallery 2, YouTube and Digg.

So far as B2Evolution is concerned, plugins and hacks—both can be used to extend the software. Of them two, Plugins are easier to install. What you need to add pluging to your website is to drop a file into the plugins directory and then install it back through the BackOffice.

Here are the brief descriptions of some of the B2Evolution plugins:

Lightbox

This plugin allows users to add links to pictures in their blog posts that are displayed with Lightbox.

Footnotes

This is a footnote plugin which lets you add unobtrusive side/snide/additional/informative remarks without disturbing anty aspects of the main text.

reCAPTCHA

This plugin lets b2evolution make use of the reCAPTCHA project from Carnegie Mellon University. This is still in a rough stage of development.

FCKeditor plugin

This Plugin allows you to integrate FCKeditor as a RTE (Rich Text Editor) for editing contents.

Gallery 2 Plugin

This plugin implements single sign on between a gallery (http://gallery.menalto.com/) installation and b2evolution.

AstonishMe Digg Plugin

This plugin allows you to add Digg buttons to your posts by just checking a box in the Write tab. To add any post to Digg, you will just need to click the Digg button. This plugin also helps to see how many Diggs the story has.

While WordPress itself is a robust and complete blogging system, to really maximize the software and make money from Google Adsense you’ll need to install and use a couple of Adsense “plugins”. Most of the plugins can be found by doing a search on Google, and installation is simple and straightforward. All you need to do is upload the plugin to your web host using an FTP, and activate the plugin inside your WordPress administration area.

1) Adsense Deluxe WordPress Plugin

The first and most important is a plugin called “Adsense Deluxe”. While this plugin will help you to display Adsense ads on your blog, it also serves other purposes. You can use this plugin to insert Javascript, PHP and almost any other type of code into your blog posts.

The Adsense Deluxe plugin will allow you to insert Adsense ads into your blog posts by including a simple code like this:

You can create multiple ad formats in the plugin’s settings page, and you can always change these later without having to modify the individual blog posts. This makes it easy to test different ad formats over time, and also to replace your Adsense codes with other ads if the need arises.

2) Adsense Injection WordPress Plugin

Unlike the Adsense Deluxe plugin, the “Adsense Injection” plugin will insert Adsense codes automatically into every blog post, including older posts.

This is great if your blog already has a lot of existing content, and you don’t want to insert codes manually into all of them. As the name suggests, when you use Adsense Injection you “inject” your Adsense codes automatically and randomly into all previous and future blog posts.

Thus, you will not have to worry about what’s called “ad blindness” as your Adsense blocks will appear in different positions within your content. You can also randomize different ad formats and different alignments to make sure that no two pages have the exact Adsense codes on them.

Unlike the Adsense Deluxe plugin however, the Adsense Injection plugin cannot display other Javascript ads or PHP codes.

3) Adsense Beautifier WordPress Plugin

The Adsense Beautifier plugin just makes your ads prettier. By adding an image on top or next to your Adsense codes automatically, the plugin can help you to achieve a higher CTR (click-through) and ultimately higher Adsense earnings.

The images are generic so you can use them with any type of content. You can also create and upload your own images to be used with the Adsense Beautifier plugin. If you do this however, make sure you check with the Adsense support team as you don’t want to violate any of their terms of service.

Gobala Krishnan is the author of the best-selling “WordPress Adsense System” (www.WordpressAdsenseSystem.com) and also a niche-blogging specialist.

Thousands of people are now blogging and some are making some good money through it. Even though search engines give blogs high ranking if they are updated often. But that feature alone is not going to work on its own, you need something that will make your blog different and turn it into a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, traffic generating machine. If you are using a wordpress blog then you can install a variety of plugins to make it gain traffic through web 2.0 and SEO techniques.

Firstly one of the most recommended plugins available on wordpress, the all in one SEO pack, this will help you improve your blog search engine ranking. This pack is designed so you don’t have to work for traffic, so just write posts and keep the blog updated and this will help your site appear in the search engines for your chosen keywords.

Another one that I use is the traffic getting plugin, this is one that needs to be downloaded from the person who created its site and it gives you a whole array of recommended plugins that you should install. Its creates a small icon at the bottom of your admin area, that you then click on and it gives you the option of applying any tweaks that should be made. Its scores your blog a rating out of 100 percent on how well it should perform in the search engines. However with the free version it won’t ever get your blog up to 100 percent. The upgraded version is available still though and will allow your blog to go beyond the free versios potential.

Sociable is another good one to have on your site with social bookmarking and Web 2.0 being such big topics at the moment. This will add links to a selection of social networking sites to your blog so readers who like the post can quickly share it with others on social networking sites. This plugin is designed again to get you more traffic from different sources, as apposed to simply relying on search engines. You can configure this plugin so that it appears under every post on your main page, making it more obvious to people visiting your site.

Another plugin I added but does require some HTML knowledge is a called ‘Make Me Social that automatically sends new posts to some of the top social networking sites, with the idea of providing your some quick traffic. I’ve not really had chance to figure out whether its a good plugin or not, but if it does what it says then it is a power traffic generating method. It only covers a small number of social networking sites but it is still an unique and exciting idea for a plugin.

The Stat Counter plugin is an informative plugin thats worth looking at installing, this will show you which keywords people are using the search engines to find your site. This will require you to signup free with statcounter.

Checkout and subscribe to my blog for all the latest marketing new: http://www.tereviews.com

Plugins for the WordPress platform are tons of fun and incredibly useful. You’ll find everything you need to turn your blog into something amazing that is every bit as great as you would have imagined. While there are many plugins out there that are worth your while, the five that follow are the cream of the crop.

Akismet

This plugin actually comes standard with your WordPress installation. You will have to get a WordPress.com API key to make it work, but after you do it’s pure bliss. This will help keep spam comments away automatically! Akismet is smart enough to put suspected spam into a separate folder, and it even learns from you as you go. You should always activate this plugin for the best results with your blog. It saves you a ton of time too!

Linking to different pages in your blog from every page is a great search engine optimization tactic. The problem with blogs is that it can be so hard to dig through old posts that are related and manually link them in your new post. Related posts solves that problem! This will automatically insert some relevant posts for your blog. It’s very hands-off and very effective. Both visitors and search engines love this plugin.

All in One SEO Pack

Once again, optimizing your site for the search engines is going to be one of the best ways you can make money with your blog. The higher you rank, the more traffic you recieve. The more traffic you receive, the more money you make! The All In One SEO pack makes your life easier because it allows you to specify the title, description (that will show up in the search engines), and keywords.

WordPress Database Backup

Backing up your blog is crucial if you value your business. You never know what could happen to your server, and it would be awfully devastating to lose everything. You can easily back everything up by pressing a few simple buttons with this effective and very useful plugin.

Top Commentators

This plugin is greatly effective and it encourages a lot of interaction on your blog. It lists the people who have the most comments within your blog. They love this because they get the extra exposure. You love it because people really get into posting to try and be at the top. It also gives social proof. When people visit a blog for the first time they are more likely to stick around if there are clearly other people there who value your content. The fact that they can see others participating is a great thing.

There are an incredible number of different plugins out there that are ready for you to use. Install these essentials and you’ll be well-prepared to become the great blogger you’re going to become.

The first appearance of WordPress did happen in 2003 and it has become very popular by now and is being used on thousands of websites hence. What is WordPress then? Well, it happens to be a simple open source blogging tool which is offered in two ways, either the hosted option or the free software download option. However, apart from this, WordPress brings to the fore many additional features as well and these are known as WordPress plugins. With these plugins, any individual can customize his blog to suit both the audience and the genre of his website.

What is the necessity of WordPress autopost plugins then? As per experts, they are essential and the same is being felt among users these days. Network marketers do need the help of blogs since without a network marketing web presence there can’t be any development these days and if you are thinking in that way, you are living in a fool’s paradise. Time is running fast and changing as well and you have to cope with the changing reality hence.

It may be that you don’t have your website or you can’t afford any such for the moment. Don’t worry, a blog is the best and/or easiest way to go then. While on one hand it is free and comparatively easy, it is the easiest way to go on the other hand. The presence of WordPress autopost plugins will enhance the same to a great extent.

Effective network marketing blog

Effective network marketing blog has become the catchword in the marketing industry these days and lots of people are found to have more than one personal blog. Do you know their first preference? It is the same WordPress, as it is easy and versatile, one of the most popular known till now and above all, Google has a strong affinity with it. You, owing to the frequent use of WordPress autopost plugins, will be able to become determined to get traffic and on account of additional functionality, it can help you in several ways in the coming days.

All these indicate that WordPress is one of the best ways that can ensure you to have an efficient network marketing blog as you begin to build your network marketing web presence.

Time to choose your theme

It’s also the time to select your theme and you have to be wise in this context. This is also essential along with WordPress autopost plugins. Do you know when Google crawls a blog it typically reads from left to right? This is a steady fact and the only reason is if you have a sidebar on the left with links, Google reads it first every time and considers it duplicate content.

Duplicate content is not good in any way and can affect your rankings and thereby your traffic in the search engines. Hence always go for a simple, easy to navigate theme with navigation bars on the right side allowing Google to read your new posts first. This will help to make sure an effective network marketing blog containing WordPress autopost plugins.

You can autopost to WordPress from any feed like Amazon products, eBay auctions, Yahoo Answers questions and answers, YouTube videos, articles and Clickbank ads.
